It was really funny because they obviously didn’t know who they were dealing with. Know what I mean? Then they said they would pick the greatest warrior, and they picked Marc Havak. He seemed like such an average guy, but he was a true-blue American. He even worked as a truck driver! That’s the kind of good guy we want defending us from aliens.

Awesome!
This was a cool concept and it really kept me engrossed and guessing until the end. It had a good amount of action and the MC was funny. I could totally see myself being annoyed by all the same stuff she (or he???) was. Fair warning, there's lots of swearing, but I thought it fit with the character. I also like that the author resolved enough issues in the first book for it to be satisfying on its own while still setting up the intro to the next installment. Finally, the narrator was great - really added to the experience. Looking forward to the next one!

The MC is a marry sue, while this book show some growth in the authors maturity in that there isn't any listen and believe bs or wasting chapters telling us about some other person, its to short for a credit or the price maybe if this is ever bundled or remade with other work in the series so they are 8-9 hours each it would.
Pros:
Narrator was excellent kept me listening to the end.
MC has character flaws and not the normal ones marry sues are usually given one of witch is the lack of willpower.
