Storylines we are all over the place.
I really struggled with this book. It was too long (85 chapters). They were short chapters that could have been condensed. There was too much back story and content that was completely irrelevent and added nothing to the plot. There was too much dialogue in explaining inconsequential details which seemed to be used only to fill up space. Endless dialogue about the kids, and characters that had nothing to do with the plot was a waste of time. The plot (s) and there were many, were unbelievable, unrealistic and unnecessary. I felt like the author had three novels he tried to condense into one. This story went completely sideways when he introduced those two government assassins. The narrator did not do a good job. She did not add any excitement or interest to her character. I felt she did better when she spoke as other characters but most often her intonation was distracting and hard to listen to.
