Cut through the bulls**t and buy this book

Look, whether you buy this as a hard copy it audiobook it will change the way you look at fitness and health.
I enjoyed the audiobook because I learn a lot on my long road commute and then I would go to the author's website to get more research in places I wanted more information on.

I have been weightlifting for several years now as I trained for physical fitness exams. I have been struggling through all the conflicting hoards of information out there. I knew half of it was bullshit. When I found this author I started with his 50 fitness Myths book, but don't worry, he talks about them in all his books- which led me to this one. my question was.. if everything I thought I knew, everything my personal trainers told me, everything I read on the internet was wrong..then what is right? it's so simply laid out. It's so simple I told other people and they looked at me in disbelief!!

But it works. I applied his teachings and I started finally getting the results I was putting blood sweat and tears (lots of tears) into!
this is an Author you can trust. This is an Author who doesn't just talk at you but gives you the data behind the facts.

Not only all that but when you do the work, it's easier, good results, it's more at your own pace (if you are like me and always felt like you need more rest time) and the dieting lifestyle change is easy. I recommend meal prepping any day every day. it makes the whole process way easier.

seriously though, invest in Michael's books. They will change your life.

MATTHEWS is so great but....

Stop narrating your books please, sir. Every "W" isn't pronounced with an H. In fact, the H is silent most times even when it's next to that W :). Great book though!!!

Great, comprehensive text!

This book was recommended to me by a friend on the Fitness Pal app - and it did not disappoint. As someone who had plateaued after my first couple of years doing basic workouts on cardio equipment and weight machines after my trainer moved away, I was able to identify a number of small changes that will help me to continue to move forward. The information was accessible, and the author was very supportive when I reached out with additional questions. I'm confident that I added enough new tools to my box to keep me busy at the gym for the foreseeable future! Also, the narrator was easy to follow and much less annoying than others I've heard. I will have to review the portions regarding specific exercises, but the nutrition and other sessions were easy enough to digest on the first pass.

I've been waiting for a book like this!

Finally! A straight forward, from the beginning, no nonsense description on how to train and get fit. I love the no BS attitude and to finally find a way through the diet and training jungle. This was just what I needed and I feel really motivated to start my new, strong and healthier lifestyle. The book is educational as well as getting you very motivated. Read it!!

very comprehensive and plain English

I liked the content of the book for sure. everything makes sense and will be easy to incorporate. I would opt for reading it myself vs his narration as I found the influxes to be quite distracting

Written and Read for a Man not a Woman

Would you try another book from Michael Matthews and/or Jeff Justus?

I have not but, this one was good

Which character – as performed by Jeff Justus – was your favorite?

Jeff Justus read this like he was talking to a twenty something man, not a woman. It felt like what "Maxim" magazine would sound like on audio. Don't you want, strong, sexy, hot, and awesome hotness, lean, sexy, hotness? Well, I am going to tell you how to sexy up your work out... Something like that.

Do you think Thinner Leaner Stronger needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. This book provides a fundamental concept of resistance training and proper diet and supplements. This is definitely very sound advice. The production just doesn't work for me.

Any additional comments?

There is nothing particularly new in this book but, it is sound advice. The book definitely sounds like it was written for a man though. Perhaps the narrator is simply trying to "sexy" it too much but, this definitely sounds like it was written for a man, not a woman

The physical book might be better

While informative, the repetitiveness of text made me struggle hard to finish. I would recommend getting the physical book.

Read this book! You won't regret it!

Would you listen to Thinner Leaner Stronger again? Why?

I would listen to it again simply to remind myself of all of the amazing tips found within the title. I feel like there is much insight and inspiration to be gained from this title. It's evident that Michael Matthews has clearly done his research--both time spent in the gym and time spent reading.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me want to start lifting weights again and selecting better, more healthy snacks between more well-rounded meals.

Any additional comments?

This title is for women. There are a few times when you have to listen to the requirements for men, but, hey, take notes for your buddies for when you're at the gym together.

Extremely impressed!

I have been in the fitness industry for around 3 years now and have come across hundreds of different ways to train and eat. Thinner, leaner, stronger is the first and only information I've come across that is backed up with scientific research. I have been on the program for only a week, but already feel better. I am excited and anxious to see where I end up in a year. I have hit a plateau and am confident that this program will help me reach my goals of burning fat and gaining muscle. The book covers every aspect of the fitness industry and was extremely educational.
