This book will enrich you with some interesting information about the nature of depression and other mental diseases and how some simple life changes can make a difference in your mood. If you want to learn some biology and how the human mind works, this book will also give you some technical explanations that might help you know yourself better. The author did an excellent job in this audiobook - you will listen to it as you are in one of his lectures. There are some "truths" here that you won't see published by the food or pharmaceutical industries... You will be surprised by some of the stories that the author brings in this book. I am now doing the author's "Six Weeks Program" and I am very satisfied with the results.
I'm not usually into Naturopathic ideas, but I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job explaining how what we put in our bodies affects us. I bought the book after listening to the free sample. I was impressed and the book did not disappoint.
This book is a must read. It provides a natural way to move toward good health. The insight it gives helps to bring clarity to past experiences. It should be a requirement for doctors and the infomation made widespread for all. Earlier knowledge could have made a positive difference in so many lives. Read now, live longer and healthier.
If you are interested in the concept of food as preventative medicine, then this book is well worth your time. I am not sure the book's title really does it justice, and actually think many people would by this book if it were marketed under a slightly different title. Dr. Hyman does an excellent job of making a lot of potentially technical information easy to understand. However, on the performance side of things, he does have a quirky little laugh at times (while reading the text) that really does not seem appropriate. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book! The information within this text should be required of all health care practitioners!
Lots of good information in here, but little in the way of fixes for the problems. This author is obviously trying to hype his own web site, i.e. his own sales. Would have been a lot better with more information on the best way to accomplish change. A better read is Ultrametabolism.
Did not have print version, but the audio edition was EXCELLENT: clear voice, engaging inflections, understandable presentation of complex ideas!
"The Blue Zones" by Dan Buettner gets at the same ideas from a social/cultural perspective. The UltraMind gets to point of how the human biological system works.

90% of the information was great and applicable. I, as an engineer, think the electro pollution part is silly and made me perceive the author as less credible, but like I said, take what makes sense and apply it to your life.
It says an enlightening book; however, I felt that they're were some unnecessary complications such as recipes, sleeping with eat plus in (how do you hear the alarm?). Nevertheless, it carefully demonstrates how to improve one's health
