Placing conditions on our lives and our happiness has become the norm: We must establish a career before looking for a relationship. We must find love before feeling fulfilled. We must feel stressed out until we finish everything on our to-do list. But by far, the most common conditions we put on ourselves revolve around our weight - no love until we lose the weight, no pursuing a dream until we lose the weight, no happiness until we lose the weight.
But now there’s a better option.
Using tapping, also known as EFT, Jessica Ortner walks you through a process that helps you drop stress so you can drop pounds - without dieting, deprivation, or extreme exercise. Using her own struggles with weight loss, along with success stories of some of the thousands of women she’s worked with, Jessica teaches you not only the basics of tapping but also how to use it to address the deeper facets of your weight and self-worth challenges. Plus she teaches you to overcome some of the most common weight loss obstacles. Say good-bye to the cravings, panic, and self-doubt that keep you in a constant fight against your body!

Every Woman should listen to this book....It helped me realize why a lot of my thought patterns are what they are. Jessica has a fantastic speaking voice. I Loved This!!!!
This is NOT just about weight loss, it's about self-love....which is the root of true joy anyway. I've listened once and plan to listen again and again. My future is bright and I can feel the beginnings of true self-acceptance that I don't think I've ever experienced in my entire life. I can't recommend this book enough. EVERYONE should experience it.
This book is really amazing. Jessica gets to the heart of the real issues behind a struggle with weight.
Personally, I didn't expect to be able to relate to all of the issues in this book since I am not technically overweight (my problem being that I fluctuate between being obsessed with getting 'skinny' and taking time off from doing any kind of exercise). In spite of this, I decided to go ahead and do all of the exercises as they came up anyway. While doing these exercises, I soon realized that all of the issues covered do apply to me - the behavior was just so engrained that I failed to recognize it upon first sight. As a result, I learned a lot about myself and was able to really examine my relationship with my body.
I just finished the book but I am fairly certain I am on my way to a much healthier self-image and relationship with food and exercise.
Jessica does mispronounce one or two words and there are a few times when music plays awkwardly but these are only minor distractions.
I highly recommend this book to women of all ages. If you are a woman, chances are our society's obsession with thinness is affecting you in some way and you will be better off after examining the impact it has had on your life and using Jessica's exercises to release this pressure.
This book has a lot of really good information but it is not a good choice for an audio book since they do not provide all of the tapping scripts separately either as a mP3 or as a document. You will need to go back to them over and over in order to get the results and trying to find them in the book is difficult.
I would probably not listen but i would buy the books or kindle edition
Maybe if the whisper sync was available this might work better
Well, not in my case as I use to come back and read again certain pieces of the text, I use to highlight parts and put bookmarks and with the audio is tremendously difficult. I wish I knew the whispersync service before buying also the kindle version. Yes, I've bought this book twice as as I also like to "read" books while I'm driving by using the audiobook.
I do not know of other books on the subject. I simply bought this one as I loved Jessica's speeches in the World Tapping Summit and recently I started to have some emotional eating issues so I guessed that she would be of help also in this subject.
The calmness of her voice, the warm and comforting tone of her voice, the confidence, sometimes fun listening peaks and also the feeling you have that she's not lecturing you but speaking from the very bottom of her soul to you.
Well, no, it was overall calming, soothing and illuminating. I felt not crazy but understood a lot of things of myself, and not alone in the world with this problem.
Hope to see Jessica deliver some other great books! If I could met her, I will thank her personally and give her a big hug. :-)
This was a great book to listen to. I loved the mediations and thought that all of the major points applied to my own life and my current struggles with weight. I am a tapping beginner and I think that it is something that I will continue to use throughout my life. Thank you for the book Jessica!
Didn't read the print version. Jessica goes over verbal exercises which is great on the audio version.
This is a great book that I purchased on a whim and ended up loving. I really enjoyed that she narrated the book herself.Don't let her youth fool you! Ms Ortner is very knowledgeable! This book is about so much more than weight loss.It is about dealing with stress, past and present , in a healthy way and moving forward.Give it a try!!!!
Ok I can't do anything in three words. But I found this book insightful and so much more than a 'weight loss book.' This is a 'look deeper into the issues why you are overweight and unhappy about it' book. Do I necessarily believe it is the tapping that is helping me? Honestly, no but it doesn't matter.
By tapping you are taking time every day to dig into your issues and feel them, accept them and release them. Is this new stuff? Nope. What is new to me is that by tapping I actually do all the emotional work my therapist has been trying to get me to do for the past year.
10 minutes a day, twice a day and I am facing the root causes of deep seeded anxiety and I am making real progress. I highly recommend this book.
I've never read another book like this before.
I both laughed and cried. Ok, I didn't sob or anything but there were times where she would hit a little closer to home than I was ready and I would well up. But to me that is what makes this book as helpful as it is.
The only distraction for me is that Jessica Ortner mispronounces words all the time. Plus she uses the word 'often' all the time. I might not notice the latter while reading but in an audiobook it stands out like a sore thumb. Given she pronounces the 't' in 'often,' it especially stands out.
Though I know tapping quite well, I felt this material was useful for where I am right now in my journey. Great book and job and Jessica narrates it well.
This book is a revolution for females everywhere with a added bonus of giving you the tools to lose weight it's so much more than that thanks Jessica xxx
I wanted to listen to this book all the way through before applying it and I have already experienced changes. Cannot wait to listen to it again and apply it!
"Not worth buying!"
