Author T. Colin Campbell, the study's project director, provides an intelligent, well-documented analysis of the study's results, an analysis that explodes the most common American dietary myths. In addressing the dietary sources of the most common diseases, including cancer, Campbell unleashes a no-holds-barred attack on the commercial interests that profit by selling the American public unhealthy food. He also shows how readers can use the study's results to change their diets and improve their health.

"[These] findings from the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease are challenging much of American dietary dogma." (The New York Times)
"Reflects the profound changes that industrialization is bringing to diet and disease patterns in China, statistics that have had an impact on reevaluating dietary policy in the United States and worldwide." (The Washington Post)
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2007. I started out on a huge bag full of prescription drugs for a few weeks to get it under control. I started doing research because I didn't want to rely on the drugs the rest of my life. I learned about the use of probiotics. I have been under control since then. Now I know that I can kick it in the butt with this information!!
I appreciate the originalresearch in this book. it is information about diet and health that I can trust. not simply an opinion about how good affects health.
This Book is an eye opener!!!! Do yourself a favor and listen to the facts of the study. I did exactly that, and implemented much of the advise they offer. It has made an incredible change for the good in how I feel and look.
The China Study ranks as one of the best books I have ever read.
The key-point: 49-to-0
The recovery of the 50 coronary ill patients without medication, surgery, or devices
Yes - however this is a book deserving of deep study. It is life altering.
Another note worthy point of the China Study, and more importantly Mr. T. Colin Campbell, and Mr. Thomas M. Campbell is the golden thread of "Integrity" is woven throughout this book. The delivery or narration is award winning...
This book is solidly researched, well written and compelling. A long time self-proclaimed omnivore, I have really bought into the author's well studied and explained arguments, and I am soon to embark on a real food, lower fat, vegetarian regimen.
The author explains the effect that various diets have on different populations, giving examples and quoting studies at every corner to support his claims and conclusions. This is not just a survey of different groups and their health. There is abundant practical information and guidance about changing one's diet for long-term health, as well as a candid and refreshing view of the various interests that shape the nutrition field in the US. It is at least comforting that someone who really knows how the industry works is willing to speak up and share the many shortcomings of a system that is supposed to protect and represent us, yet it gives too much power and leeway to special interests, be it the pharmaceutical and supplement industries, or a number of animal products agencies.
I could not recommend this book more.
Thank you to Mr. Campbell for his research, dedication to public health, courage, information and advocacy.
Living The Fired Up Epic Life #LIVETHEFUEL
This is another great and real wake up call for nutrition and lifestyle. A must for my library to educate others. Great references and backed up points.
The knowledge in this book is desperately needed by the public. I'm so glad I found this book while I'm still relatively young. I know this knowledge will help me live a long, healthy, drug free life.
