Author T. Colin Campbell, the study's project director, provides an intelligent, well-documented analysis of the study's results, an analysis that explodes the most common American dietary myths. In addressing the dietary sources of the most common diseases, including cancer, Campbell unleashes a no-holds-barred attack on the commercial interests that profit by selling the American public unhealthy food. He also shows how readers can use the study's results to change their diets and improve their health.

"[These] findings from the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease are challenging much of American dietary dogma." (The New York Times)
"Reflects the profound changes that industrialization is bringing to diet and disease patterns in China, statistics that have had an impact on reevaluating dietary policy in the United States and worldwide." (The Washington Post)
I had a few books and documentaries mention this book, and so I went in with high expectations of learning about the direction (or indirection) of our current health. This book exceeded those expectations. Interesting research, with intriging stories to follow. I am vegan, as well as learning about the importance of nutrition. I look forward to reading this book again and again. The narrator, though rather monotone, was still a nice reading. Clear voice for easy listening.
Chapter six had me with my mouth open. I can not believe what I just heard but how true . I can not believe our Drs but does not surprise me. Everyone wake up!!!!! Our health is I our hands let's take it back
This book has changed mine and my family's life. It's such a pity that the world is so closed-minded. Everyone suffering from disease should read this. And every doctor or authoritative figure should be tied to a chair and forced to sit through it haha.
This is an excellent and honest book pertaining to nutrition and disease prevention by diet.
The facts are here for people to use for their benefit.
I'm sure I will be reading it multiple times.
This book is a must read for anyone interested in nutrition.
The author discusses many studies done on nutrition, health, and the diseases that kill the affluent.
(This book is not about China)

If you care about what you put in your body, you should read this book. I am so glad to have this information. I now will make more informed choices regarding my health.
It's an informative, educational book, not a super entertaining story. However, I have learned a lot. While a vegetarian lifestyle isn't for me right now, I will make better food choices and may convert in the future. This is definitely a book I will share with my loved ones!
