I liked Tom`s new book. It's really nothing new, but it takes a lot of info and puts it in one book. I read Tom's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle and loved it. I would recommend that book as your training manual. BFFM realy gets behind the science of weight loss and weight training. This new book is more of the mental attitude guide for getting a lean muscular body and "keeping it that way for life." I like the fact that Tom explains the # 1 thing is calorie management, plain and simple. He does go on to say that you can eat whatever you want occasionally, but in moderation. And you must be aware of the calories the food contains. Hey, on a few occasions I'm still going to eat pizza and drink beer, but I'm not going to eat the whole pizza and finish off a 6 pack like I used to. Another good point is to not feel guilty about it. Afterwards, get back to being strict on your meals.
Tom reads the intro to this book, and I wish he had read the whole book. Nothing is really wrong with the narrator, I just seem to feel like "TOM" is speaking directly to me when I hear him reading.
This is an excellent way to go about dieting and your health. No lose weight fast or gimmick diets. Just the facts. And it works!!!
This book is very comprehensive and quite informative. I really enjoyed this book. I have read many books on fitness and diet, this may be the best I have read. Highly reccomend.
This is a long book that isn't what the title leads you to believe. The majority of this books time is spent telling you how everyone else has failed and not how to make the changes to succeed. It seems that by trying to compair so many other "body fat" solutions you really don't know what the solution is. I really feel if the author would have simply taken his time to write about his solution it would have been a more interesting read and perhaps something you could actually follow. This is not a memorable book and not something I would suggest.
Venuto brings nothing new to the table. He merely repeats the basic tenets of successful weight loss. Very disappointing. May be ideally suited for someone who know nothing about weight loss, and needs motivation to initiate a lifestyle change.
