This is an excellent workout program for both beginners and people like me who have spent quite a few hours in the gym. By following the routines at the pace trainer Owen McKibben set out I got a great workout within a half hour. While this program is really designed for people with access to a gym, you can modify the moves if all you have are a pair of dumbbells at home. My one concern is that there is little to no stretching exercises as part of the routine. It would have been worth the extra five minutes to make us go through a good stretch routine before and after the workouts.
I should note that while women would appreciate this workout, it's really geared toward men. It's clear, no-nonsense and effective.
I work out on a regular basis (4-5 days per week). I like to lift weights, but am not a fan of cardio. I have never been able to stay on a program that will burn fat, and I never can motivate myself to do a lot of abs. This program is great; it mixes up the workouts and keeps your body guessing day after day. Within about two months, I noticed a dramatic difference in my body and overall fitness level. I would have considered myself to be in pretty good shape prior to this audiobook, but after completing this course I wasn't even close to my potential.
If you know your way around the gym, then you may not need this trainer, but I did. Sure, I understand how to operate the equipment, but beyond that, I don't know what I'm doing at the gym. By loading this book on my iPod, I could confidently stroll around the machines, pump out my circuit and for the first time, look like I actually belong there ... like I know what I'm doing.
It's only been 2 weeks, so I can't say I have abs of steel, but I have lost 4 lbs so far on the Abs diet. The real benefit of this plan is that <b><font color=darkgreen>I now look forward to working out</font></b> ... something I've never felt before. For that alone, I give this book the top rating!
The Abs diet audio is good enough. Basically this audio is a guy naming an exercise then counting reps for you.
This has been a great workout companion, a great resource. Note there are a few errors that can be a bit annoying - like a skipped set of leg extentions, etc. but by the time you get to the spot you know the workout well and its not a big issue.
overall a very good listen, instructional and motivating
I go to the gym a lot and don't know what to do or what machines to use. Nowadays Personal Trainers are so expensive but this is just like having one to guides me through the process. It also keeps me on track and I love it. I had to tell all of my friends about this.
