Great-looking abs are more than just a way to support the mirror industry. In fact, strong abs and flat stomachs are the ultimate indicator of overall health for both men and women. Great abs will help you live longer, sleep better, prevent back pain, and significantly improve your sex life! (And, hey, they don't look half-bad in the mirror, either.) Unfortunately, you could spend years on starvation diets and extreme exercise programs that never unearth those elusive stomach muscles.
Or you could spend just six weeks with David Zinczenko, Editor-in-Chief of Men's Health magazine, on The Abs Diet, an easy and effective program for everyone that is helping thousands of people lose weight, flatten their guts, banish post-pregnancy bellies, and become healthier than they ever thought possible.
What's more, once on this revolutionary new diet you'll look and feel better than ever without deprivation dieting, counting calories, measuring foods, worrying about confusing phases, or ever feeling hungry!
Sound impossible? Let David Zinczenko prove it to you. As Editor-in-Chief of the world's most important men's magazine, Zinczenko has devoted his career to helping people improve their lives through the latest and most well-researched health, nutrition, and exercise information available.
Now, in his national best seller, Zinczenko reveals his infallible formula that works for both men and women.

"Rational recommendations for a realistic diet plan....Best of all, this book tells readers why it works: increase your body's metabolism, gain some muscle, and fat burns away. The authors make this seem like a fresh and very attainable ideal." (Publishers Weekly)
This book gives lots of great diet and health information that you can apply to your life. The reader is great. The only thing is, it spends quite a bit of time talking about the dangers of the "low carb" diet craze...and I think/hope we're kinda past that craze today. However, I recommend it. And there's other products in this "series" like the "Abs Diet Personal Trainer".
Very easy to understand and right to the point book on how and what to eat instead of what not to eat. I find the positive take on food very refreshing after all those other books/diets telling you what not to eat and what to avoid. The book is clearly targeting general public so if you feel like an expert go digging somewhere else for the nitty gritty. For everybody else do give it a try, even if you don't get hooked on doing the "no diet" diet, the information in this book is very practical and can help you make better choices in life regarding food and fitness. If you like the book and decide to follow the program you'll however need to get the Abs Diet Trainer and that's my only issue with this book. I think they could have incorporated at least the basic workout in this one and in the Abs Diet Trainer concentrate on the more advanced training. But even with this minor regret, the book is well worth your credit.
I found the audiobook to be helpful. It puts things into perspective. Most of it is common sense. It's good to hear it from someone else; however, I found the diet to be at times difficult to follow.
I'd like to thank all the women who wrote reviews, criticizing the book as a man's diet. It is, and I like it that way. Women don't seem to understand the psychology of men, not even the simplest things. The author, editor of Men's Health, knows both the topic and the mentality of his gender.
The diet is doable, even enjoyable. The reasoning for getting started as well as the explanation for why it works is compelling. The author's humor, however sophomoric, was entertaining and I devoured the book. Started the diet even before I finished the read, and I've lost 4 lbs in less than 2 weeks ... and enjoyed myself immensely.
Women beware ... this is a man's book. Don't look for Abs Diet on Oprah's Book List.
This is very easy to listen to! The approach taken towards changing your lifestyle makes sense and is easy to understand. The information given is in an easy to understand format and the humour used makes it easier to listen to. I look forward to the next chapter and wonder what comedic quips are going to be used next!
Yes, this book is more geared towards men but as a woman I still found it very practical and informative. It even made me laugh, I enjoyed listening to it. It also made me realize that I needed to focus more on strength training at the gym (I was mostly doing cardio). I can already see a difference! It's not so much a diet as just a common sense healthy way of life.
