Eat. Drink. Detox. Breathe. Neutralize. Good health is that simple.
In this groundbreaking health-and-lifestyle guide, nutritionist and superfoods expert Darin Olien provides the keys to understanding and utilizing five life forces - quality nutrition, hydration, detoxification, oxygenation, and alkalization - the factors that determine whether we will be healthy, fit, and free of illness.
Olien has traveled the world, exploring the health properties of foods that have sustained indigenous cultures for centuries. Putting his research into practice, he tells how to maintain healthy weight, prevent even the most serious of diseases, and feel great - all without restrictive or gimmicky diet plans that never work in the long term.
All too often we take note of our health only when something goes wrong. Daily aches and pains are deemed normal - a headache here and there, a sore back, occasional heartburn. But when a diagnosis comes, we are taken by surprise. However, these little complaints, Olien argues, shouldn't be taken lightly - they are signals of underlying problems, and when we ignore them, we invite disease.
With a comprehensive, holistic, and unique approach to wellness, Olien teaches us how to harness the superpowers of food, water, oxygen, and pH balance. In doing so he smashes common myths about nutrition. Included in the audiobook are an indispensable "how to eat" user's guide with a shopping list, a balanced diet plan, and advice on what to throw away and on supplementing effectively, to get us started on the way to the best health of our lives.

I really didn't know what to expect from this book, but I would like a shot at being eternally awesome. So I bought in.
I am the opposite of a mindful, let's say "strategic", eater. I love good food, and crap food, as long as it tastes good and fills the void. This book gave me good reasons to change my ways and I need reasons to make changes of that magnitude. So when I finished reading, I had a better understanding of both nutrition, the politics of food production- and how my food behaviors effect me long term. I'd say that the author has consumed and digested decades of food and nutritional information, and shared the most salient info, sans the strident attitude.
Great motivation to find the organic farmer's market and eat mostly fruit and veg for the last week. Feel better, dropped a few pounds already, and have the all important understanding of WHY I must stay the course, when the craving for a double cheeseburger and grilled onions drunk-dials me at 1am.
Thanks for a very useful book!

Darin has convinced me to make major changes in my lifestyle because he gives the "why" of things. The pets who read did a great job and even sounds a little like Darin.

Everyone should listen to this book to truly understand and know what health means and how to achieve it! This should be a school requirement
In 8 years of nutrition study, this is the first book that has summarized things so neatly. I read this is prep of doing the Ultimate Reset, as background research of the methodology. It exceeded my expectations. At the end Darin gets into veganism and for the first time, I truly saw the allure of benefits. Although the I do not want to adopt that lifestyle, reading the background made it easier to follow thru the 2 weeks of vegan diet I had to follow and I was surprised to feel as strong as ever when I returned to my fitness program after 3 weeks off. I listened and bought the text to highlight because I felt it was so good. I hope there are references in the text to all the studies.
