The first pose is sun salute which moves quickly into plank pose and upward dog. This could be very hard for a beginner. I remember taking classes for two years before I was strong enough to stay in a plank as long as she directs the listener. I recommend that you warm up first before beginning this program. There are no modifications of the poses. Sometimes the poses are held too long while the speaker explains alignment. For a beginner that could be fine but I don't believe this program is for beginners..hmmm. That can be annoying. I bought this to have on a trip and I think it will "remind" me to do some Yoga in the morning. When I use the program I probably will add my own poses as I go along with the program.
I downloaded this for use during a vacation. I am a novice practitioner of vinyasa yoga. If she was describing a posture I was already familiar with it was fine. In contrast I had a very difficult time determing her direction for new postures. It might be me but I find this difficult to follow and probably will not use it again.
I really enjoyed doing yoga without a video, and I am familiar with Sara Ivanhoe from her yoga videos. However, I believe that you need to be familiar enough with yoga and how to do the poses to do it by listening only. My main complaint is that there are a few discrepancies in the workout where you miss the instruction to move from one pose into another. But overall, being able to practice by just turning on my phone is awesome.
