Dont miss this book if u ever felt back pain. It changed my life from a person who had become fearful of sitting for more than 10 min, going out of home for long and what not. It brought me back to my mountaineering, soccer days. Within a few weeks of listening to this book I was back on a trek at an altitude of 4400 mts and finished the trek in 2 days instead of avg 4 days. I started running after a period of year and a half. I bought back shoes for trekking, running and soccer all of which I had thrown away as doctors had said I would never be able to resume these activities. This book happens to be the biggest bliss to back pain sufferers. THere are no words to thank Dr Sarno for this approach to deal with back pain. Cheers Dr Sarno !!!

I have to say I'm not much into mind over matter but having had a "bad back" for the last twenty years I thought I'd give the book a try. All I can say is that it worked. It took a good six weeks for to completely eliminate my pain but it did. I'm not sure how it worked but it did.
As a result of the book I've been back pain free for more than a year. Well worth the read.
A very thought provoking book which made me ponder the nature of my back pain. I have to admit that since taking the advice of Dr. Sarno I have had considerably less back pain than before. It's not a hard process, rather a change of attitude.

Very disappointing. You are listening for hours to find out why Sarno is supposed to be giving you a superior solution whilst he doesn't give you a clue on his ideas. Wish I had spend my money wiser.
Three hours of case studies "proving" his technique works, and about five minutes on the technique itself. Summed up: look for emotions you're hiding from yourself, and deal with them.

I had to be willing to examine my beliefs and examine possibilities of repressed aggression. It was fun to consider what I could possibly be angry at including the fact that I don't wear a jet pack every day to avoid traffic congestion! This book is for those who have tried everything for their back pain except for examining possibilities. So, as I ..."dwell(ed) in possibility" to quote Emily Dickinson, I began to laugh and breathe much easier. I am grateful to say my back pain is more sporadic and I have fun with the strategies in the book.
I love Dr. Sarno's medical experience and how he works with pain management. He is a credible resource in this area.
I've listened to it lots of times. It was easy to listen to, with the author having a great reading voice and very well structured. Complicated process's were explained in a very detailed way and I could understand the concepts that were being presented properly.
Most importantly the book has helped me to heal my back pain and tension heartaches. I would recommend this to anyone.
"The only book you'll ever need to heal back pain"
I was a little skeptical when I first started listening to this book, as I had suffered from back pain (fibromyalgia) for many years and tried countless treatments. As I listened to Dr. John Sarno's narration, I identified with everything he said. It was like he was describing me ??? my personality, my pain, and my pattern of symptoms and associated treatments. I threw all the treatments in the bin, said goodbye to my physiotherapist, and gradually got better within months.
Listen to Dr. Sarno, listen to your inner self, and you WILL recover from back pain without anything else but this book and a lot of patience. Good luck.

It was interesting... However it was more about diagnosing you with this issue ... Then no real help with the actual issue.. When the book had finished I felt like 'okay well I probably do have this tms thing.. But now what?' .. Is there a follow on?
