Hi, I'm an alumi of NYU and I'm also huge into MMA. I love books I read a lot and review the stand outs. I'll give you guys the goods.
This is an outstanding book. I'm an experienced lifter and I thought I really understood how to create the body I wanted. However, this book really taught me a lot that I didn't know. It caused me to change my entire program and I've had amazing success. I think that this book will save anyone years of fruitless struggle and help you get the body you want. This book offers all the info your ever going to need to reach your goals. This book is amazing and I think people should really pick it up and follow the program to see for yourself.
This was my first book of Mike's that I bought, and it's truly paid for itself multiple times over and over. I'll get to that in a moment.
If you're looking for a no-nonsense, motivating, inspiring book to help you quickly achieve your fitness goals, you've found it. I purchased the Audible version because I like to listen to books as I'm driving and/or mowing the lawn. I like to keep fit and healthy, and I'm always looking to pack on more muscle. One day before mowing the lawn, I searched for a new book to listen to while I was working outside. I'm glad I stumbled across this one.
As far as this book actually saving me money, his chapter on supplements is worth the cover price alone. If you're like me, you fell victim to supplement scams for years. Trying every hot new product, even though most of it wasn't backed up by any true science at all. Worst, these "new" prodcuts cost a fortune. Mike cuts through all the b.s. and lays it out straight. What works, what doesn't. What you need, what to skip. So I'm done wasting money on unproven products. Thanks so much Mike. This truly is my "Muscle Bible."
It contains a lot of valuable information for weightlifters. More importantly it flat-out tells you the truth about all the "professional" body builders out there and all the supplements they front for.
"Why we get fat" is another great book that explains the real science behind weight and muscle gain.
He sympathizes with you throughout the book - "its not your fault, corp A has manipulated you to believe this".
No, because there was plenty you could put into action immediately.
Been lifting for 20 years and this book taught me lessons you wont learn in the gym, or from personal trainers.
I loved how Mike gets down to the nitty gritty details of each topic, He leaves no space to be confused if a question arises he automatically goes into explaining the fundamentals.
At the end when it came to a full workout plans for the first two months and the 1 year bonus report i jumped out of my seat. With the info he gives you on diet and training he completes it with an actual workout plan, from which workout to how many reps its fantastic.
It's was a good read for me and really set some things straight from all the conflicting information I've read in forums.
I believe it would be more beneficial as a paper copy but it's very convenient to listen while you do other things.
Yes, there's a lot of misinformation in the fitness community. This book breaks down the right approach in a scientific, yet easily readable, format. The author doesn't BS around, it's very straightforward and isn't sugar-coated...brass-tacks. Also, it's hard not to like Mike, he's charismatic and conversational.
This book was extremely effective in its delivery. High quality advice for anyone looking to embark on a weight lifting program and looking to assist it with sound nutrition and lifestyle choices. A+, a must buy!
Easy to understand. Really enjoying the program.
Easy to understand. Really enjoying the program.
The information given and how it does not lead you into complex ways.
The workout plans and not over working yourself to gain. I use to do this a lot when i first started and leaned all it did was leave me sore for days.
Bigger Leaner Stronger
This book has wonderful information it can be a little ruff when you first start with any kind of change in your life style. The biggest thing i can take away from this book is to stay on track and build a good workout plans but make sure that I feed my body what it needs to form. I started at 336 lbs 4 years ago and now sit at 224 lbs and have been trying for the past year to build a cut frame. I'm hope with this info I can shape myself to what I want to be not just for looks but for my health and others.
Yes. It has a lot of valuable information I would always keep it to look back on.
The information on supplements was wonderful.
"Too much information to reference for an audiobook"
Not sure I would.
There is too much complex information to effectively reference in an audio book. This is not a comment or judgement on the content just that you need a kindle or paper version to get the most out of the content.
try something else or get it in text format.
"Basically, a good motivational book. But..."
Inconsistent in places. And very macho, but hey, that's the genre. I'm glad I heard it but didn't like the style.
