    "My Muscle Bible"

This was my first book of Mike's that I bought, and it's truly paid for itself multiple times over and over. I'll get to that in a moment.
If you're looking for a no-nonsense, motivating, inspiring book to help you quickly achieve your fitness goals, you've found it. I purchased the Audible version because I like to listen to books as I'm driving and/or mowing the lawn. I like to keep fit and healthy, and I'm always looking to pack on more muscle. One day before mowing the lawn, I searched for a new book to listen to while I was working outside. I'm glad I stumbled across this one.
As far as this book actually saving me money, his chapter on supplements is worth the cover price alone. If you're like me, you fell victim to supplement scams for years. Trying every hot new product, even though most of it wasn't backed up by any true science at all. Worst, these "new" prodcuts cost a fortune. Mike cuts through all the b.s. and lays it out straight. What works, what doesn't. What you need, what to skip. So I'm done wasting money on unproven products. Thanks so much Mike. This truly is my "Muscle Bible."

"Learn your body with science and no gimmeks"
Would you listen to Bigger Leaner Stronger again? Why?

It contains a lot of valuable information for weightlifters. More importantly it flat-out tells you the truth about all the "professional" body builders out there and all the supplements they front for.

What other book might you compare Bigger Leaner Stronger to and why?

"Why we get fat" is another great book that explains the real science behind weight and muscle gain.

What about Jeff Justus’s performance did you like?

He sympathizes with you throughout the book - "its not your fault, corp A has manipulated you to believe this".

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, because there was plenty you could put into action immediately.

    Any additional comments?

Been lifting for 20 years and this book taught me lessons you wont learn in the gym, or from personal trainers.

This is an outstanding book. I'm an experienced lifter and I thought I really understood how to create the body I wanted. However, this book really taught me a lot that I didn't know. It caused me to change my entire program and I've had amazing success. I think that this book will save anyone years of fruitless struggle and help you get the body you want. This book offers all the info your ever going to need to reach your goals. This book is amazing and I think people should really pick it up and follow the program to see for yourself.

"Well written, full of detail, excellent!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, there's a lot of misinformation in the fitness community. This book breaks down the right approach in a scientific, yet easily readable, format. The author doesn't BS around, it's very straightforward and isn't sugar-coated...brass-tacks. Also, it's hard not to like Mike, he's charismatic and conversational.

"Bigger, Leaner, Stronger-Broken down Barney style!"
What made the experience of listening to Bigger Leaner Stronger the most enjoyable?

If you want a no BS fitness book, this is the one you have been looking for. Mike Matthews breaks everything down into simple form, and makes everything easy to understand. Whether you are a novice or an expert, I think you will take something from this book.

You need to check out this book If you value your time as much as I do, and don't want to waste countless hours over-training for little gain.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    N/A

Have you listened to any of Jeff Justus’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    N/A

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    N/A

    Any additional comments?

Not only is this book very simple to follow, but it's incredibly honest. The fitness industry is filled with people/companies trying to shove unnecessary products/services down our throats, and this book doesn't do ANY of that.

Moreover, Mike even goes above and beyond to point out things that we might have THOUGHT were legitimate, and are complete fallacies. If you're looking for a great fitness book, look no further.

    "Disappointing"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This should have never been made into an audio book. I've not seen it in print, but it reads like page after page of charts and tables. Format aside, there's nothing new here, wish I had my credit back.

Has Bigger Leaner Stronger turned you off from other books in this genre?

The book did not turn me off to fitness books, but I'll think twice before I get another one.

"Forget Other Training Books, This Is It!"
What made the experience of listening to Bigger Leaner Stronger the most enjoyable?

Easy read. Concise. Simple. Revolutionary ideology that is exciting and most importantly WORKS!

What other book might you compare Bigger Leaner Stronger to and why?

    Nothing. Nothing even close.

Have you listened to any of Jeff Justus’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not, but his narration was excellent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Because the theology behind the program is so exciting and revolutionary, I found the entire book fascinating. Everything from the theory behind the warm up to the unnecessary accepted practices so many practice today (included in that was me), do not just make sense, but work.

    Any additional comments?

It has only been 5 weeks so far on this program and not only am I more motivated than ever to continue, I have to force myself to take days off. I've experienced strength gains of 30% already. Significant muscle definition changes, and desired weight loss, with muscle mass gains exactly the way it should be. Whether you are on a program, looking for a change or starting fresh, look no further. This is what you need. I further got the book 'the year one challenge" that supplements this book and lays out a year of workouts for you. Follow it and enjoy the results and transformation. As a coach I am not just on the program myself, I also have some of my high performance athletes on it, that are currently ranked tops in the nation.

    "Best workout plan I've read"

Clear and easy to understand. A great place to start for beginners and a great plan for seasoned veterans to switch to. The concepts resonated with me and after having been through several workout plans over 5 years, this will be what I'll settle on. There are only one or two niggly things where the broad advice requires some personalisation (daily caloric intake, supplement regime, etc). Once you're into this line of thinking there are lots of other support functions available on his website as well which I plan to check out.

"Too much information to reference for an audiobook"
Would you try another book written by Michael Matthews or narrated by Jeff Justus?

    Not sure I would.

What was most disappointing about Michael Matthews’s story?

There is too much complex information to effectively reference in an audio book. This is not a comment or judgement on the content just that you need a kindle or paper version to get the most out of the content.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jeff Justus’s performances?

    not sure.

What character would you cut from Bigger Leaner Stronger?

    N/A

    Any additional comments?

try something else or get it in text format.

Inconsistent in places. And very macho, but hey, that's the genre. I'm glad I heard it but didn't like the style.
