Publisher's summary

Craig Beck is a well-regarded family man with two children, a nice home and a successful media career. A director of several companies & at one time the trustee of a large children’s charity. Outwardly, Craig was a highly successful & functioning professional man in spite of a ‘2 bottles of wine a night’ drinking habit. For 20 years he struggled to control his drinking, all the time refusing to label himself an alcoholic because he didn't believe he met the stereotypical image that the word portrayed.

He tried countless ways to cut down; attempting ‘dry months’, banning himself from drinking spirits, only drinking at the weekend & special occasions (and found that it is amazing how even the smallest of event can suddenly become ‘special’). All these 'will power' based attempts to stop drinking failed (exactly as they were destined to do). Slowly he discovered the truth about alcohol addiction & one by one all the lies he had previously believed started to fall apart. For the first time he noticed that he genuinely didn’t want to drink anymore. In this book he will lead you though the same amazing process.

Thousands of people just like you have quit drinking using this method and their feedback and advice has gone into creating this extended and updated edition. The Craig Beck stop drinking method is unique...

  • No need to declare yourself an alcoholic.
  • A permanent cure, not a lifetime struggle.
  • No group meetings or expensive rehab.
  • No humiliation, no pain and 100% no ‘will power’ required.
  • Treats the source of the problem not the symptoms.

    poison

Alcohol is poison. disguised as a fun time. I am 58, and drinking has not only hurt my organs but also most of my life in all my relationships, DWI,s arrests, and all overall success, since I was 17 when i started. i did stop drinking for 8yrs. once in my early 40s, and they where the most productive years of my life. then I went back to the bottle after a bitter divorce. hiding behind a bottle, waning in self pity. the book is a much needed slap in the face wake up call to save our lives from slow suicide .

    Alcohol; beautiful packaged poison.

Most helpful material I've ever used to quit drinking. After reading and taking in his ideas and real life experiences you will begin to see what alcohol really is and how a majority of our society has been fooled to believe it is actual something good. Thank you Craig Beck.

ROCK SOLID! A MUST READ! WRONG ON AA THOUGH...

Would you listen to Alcohol Lied To Me - Extended Edition again? Why?

Yes. This book is a fundamental read for those who have an alcohol or any addition and want to become free. Craig mentioned in the book that AA fails because it requires the use of will power to stop drinking. Either Craig has never been to an AA meeting, read the Big Book, or ever talked to an AA member. AA uses a spiritual and denounces will power as a path to find and maintain sobriety. As an AA member who seeks knowledge from many sources, I urge Craig to amend this area of his book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Craig of course.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Learning my ego was the cause of all the detriment in my life.
