Keep your gods close and your monsters closer....

Police Chief Delaney Reed thinks she knows all of Ordinary, Oregon’s secrets. Gods on vacation, lovelorn ghosts, friendly neighborhood monsters? Check.

But some secrets run deeper than even she knows. To take down an ancient vampire hell-bent on revenge, she will have to make the hardest decision of her life: give up the book of dark magic that can destroy them all, or surrender her mortal soul.

As she weighs her options, Delaney discovers she can no longer tell the difference between allies keeping secrets and enemies telling the truth. Questioning loyalties and running out of time, Delaney must choose sides before a kidnapping turns into murder, before rival crochet and knit gangs start a war, and before the full moon rises to signal the beginning of Ordinary’s end.

excellent

I found this audiobook to be excellent it was fun to listen to and there was a lot going on so there's never a dull moment I really like this writer someone had wrote a review about the actors not being as good as they had been in previous books I don't know I think it was good in my opinion because the background ambience sound was not as loud as it had been in the last two which made it actually more enjoyable because you couldn't understand everything going on in the last two and in this one it was a lot better and you still got the ambience well enough so good job I recommend it to anybody who likes humor a little bit of tension in an audiobook thank you God bless

Not the ending to expect...

The ending of this story isn't something I don't think many people would expect and that's a good thing! Brava to the writer! I'm glad this series continues on with other members of the family, so it doesn't feel like it's truly an ending to the story.

Dalaini does what ever she thinks neccassary to protect her people

Great book I can’t wait to read the next book. Loved how she got entangled with a demon and still found away to work it out.

Decent series

I listened to the first 3 books because they were free with my subscription. Honestly, they’re a good listen. Not perfect but pretty darn good.

I have some nitpicky type issues with some of the character choices, as well as in the first 2 books but they’re probably just peeves of mine.

I specifically was searching for graphic audio titles when I found this series. I was really surprised that a lot of the reviews through out the series were about hating this version. I mean it’s very clearly stated that it’s a full cast. There are 5 minute previews of every book, yet somehow people were still surprised. Weird.

One reviewer even asked the author if they would redo it with their preferred narrator. It’s like people don’t realize it costs authors THOUSANDS to produce these books and not all authors are rich and famous. Maybe find a better way to support authors?

All in all the cast was wonderful, sure a few of the sound effects at times were a bit overwhelming but it wasn’t often.

I love the original mythology for the story. Very creative concept. In all 3 books I listened to I did have issues with some character choices. Some quirks were annoying, like Delaney’s rapid fire questioning as a cop where the other person can’t take a breath much less answer. Some pretty obvious things about police procedure were annoying. But again over all it was a really good story.

I love graficaudio books.

These books really come alive. It’s really easy to get lost with the story telling of this book.

The heroine makes the dumbest choices

She was pretty kick-ass in the first book. How on earth did she deteriorate so quickly? Really frustrating.

Lost interest because of the terrible performances

I wish I had a choice between the exceptional performance by Khristine Hvam in previous books and the mess of multiple performers who take all the imagination out of what an audio book is about. I resent being spoon fed the characters. I want my imagination not some directors. I will not be buying any other series by this author.

TSTL

This heroine really went downhill fast. How'd she get to be police chief? She's a moron.
