Publisher's summary

Douglas Wilson writes to a young man on how he should pursue a woman. Feminism has catechized us in many lies about what makes the sexes attracted to each other, and evangelical pastors have often only reinforced those lies with platitudes about servant-leadership (heavy on the servant, light on the leadership).

When they find out that being a doormat doesn’t attract anyone, young men often rebound to the secular manosphere. Douglas Wilson offers his own commonsense advice, sharp-edged and thoroughly biblical, not just on how to be the kind of man who attracts the right woman, but how to be the kind of man that keeps her.

Biblical perspective on Men and Women

Very practical and applicable perspective on who God created us to be as men and women based on scripture.

Female attraction is designed, not evolved

Helpful book for young men who want to be masculine, attractive, AND thoroughly Biblical. Wilson compellingly explains the creational realities that red pill writers have identified and attribute to evolution. He shows how God's design for men and women explains what women are attracted to, and explains how young men can draw on these truths to improve their attractiveness to women while treating these women in a respectful and upright way. If more pastors had the clear eyes and courage to say things like this, the church would be much better off.

Manly advice

It is rare to hear a preacher to speak to advise men in a manly manner. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Straight up without the chaser.

Practical Godly Wisdom

Not for anyone who isn’t a Christian. The teaching on the need for masculine men is fantastic and getting off my buns to ask a girl out is necessary

Nailed it!

This book is easy to read (letters to a hypothetical nephew) and embraces the differences between men and women as a good part of God's creation and beautifully describes how to navigate the differences, not ignore them. Plan to order print copies for my wife and sons so we can read through this together.
Thank "Uncle Doug" for letting us read your letters!

Men of our Generation Should Read This Book

The level-headedness of this book is highly commendable. Wilson does not take an approach that doesn't put wheels on the pavement: it's practical, biblical, and full of commonsense. An excellent book!
