okay

Kinda dragged toward the end, and had a really hand-wavy ending. Another sentence because otherwise this review will be too short for Audible to post.

An easy listen and an intriguing plot

As a casual audiobook listener I find Tom's writing is as enjoyable as listening to Veronica reading it. which is a lot.

It was a little confusing at first and everything sounds so cheery even when things got sad. But, I'm not picky.

Performance was great and easy to understand. Story was very good, would like to have more in this universe.

Fun sci-fi romp!

Sci-fi with some cloak and dagger, a splash of office/interstellar politics, and some historical intrigue. Veronica did a fantastic job of keeping things dynamic. Great way to spend five hours!

Great!

A great expansion to the universe of Lot Beta. Well read by Veronica Belmont. I hope to see more books in this universe by Tom Merritt.

Solid sci-fi

I really enjoyed Ms. Belmont's narration. She has a fluid style that allows the listener to quickly and easily immerse themselves into the story.
This is more a novella than a novel. Everything kind of leaves me wanting more. I wanted to know many of the characters better than we got to know them in this book. So many of the secondary characters seemed interesting, yet briefly met.
And my biggest complaint would be that I don't exactly understand why the villains were in fact the villains. Their organization would seem to be the type to help people, at least in theory. I can understand incompetence from such an organization, but not the decision to be so antagonistic.
Still, an interesting world, and one I'd like to see more of.
