Publisher's summary

Mercy Thompson returns in the seventh novel in the number-one New York Times best-selling series.

Mercy Thompson's life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter, Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercy's life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more....

After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse can't reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. They've all been abducted.

Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam's disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from any ally she can get, no matter how unlikely.

Enough plot twists for a Coyote story

I was hoping a lot form this book, the past one Fair Game left the story with an interest Fairy flavor. This one picks up really good after those events which makes you think it will be predicable. Well as all Mercy books before this one you would get it all wrong. The book keeps you hooked all the way to the end; lots of plots twists and even bigger problems, leaving you with just a smile of how things went. We get to see an even tougher Mercy who always gets involved to try to do the right thing; she even drives around in a cooler looking car than her usual VW. And also now that she is a stepmother, she becomes someone very concern and caring to her new family.
It is not a complain, but just a comment, I felt it too short even when we know this is longer than River Marked. I guess it’s just the very fast paced and well written that you just can’t let it down. Still it left me for the need of more.

Lorelei is amazing at her performance, she always has being but in this particular story some fragments are told from Adam's point of view, and she managed just fine. Referring to Mercy in third person rather than first was challenging but helps you get into all the points of view not only hers.

In all is a great book and it’s a most if you are a Mercy fan already. Do not get this if you are not familiar with past books, and also with Alpha an Omega series.

AHHHH, I read it too fast!!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Patricia Briggs is back with Mercy, Adam, their pack, and her allies. In addition, Patricia Briggs brings a little help to Mercy's door from Charles and Anna's world. Not only do you get to see the ins and outs of friendship, pack, and a little bit of magic, you get to see into more of what makes Mercy and Adam tick, what is in their hearts and minds.

What other book might you compare Frost Burned to and why?

I think Frost Burned was similar to Iron Kissed from the standpoint of all of Mercy's friends, allies, etc... are engaged in this story. You are able to see where folks are at and what is happening a little bit in their lives while Mercy is once again plunging into danger to save her loved ones.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is when Patricia Briggs gets inside Adam's head. You get to see how he feels about Mercy, why she is important to him, and how much she means to him. Briggs has always been good about get up close and personal in what Mercy thinks and feels about herself and those around her, this time she does the same with Adam and goes back and forth between the two of them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"Mercy, your eyes are gold, I didn't know they could change color."

Any additional comments?

Loralie King does a great job of narrating the story. If I had any complaints at all, it was that I zipped through this book way too fast and now how to wait before Patricia Briggs puts out her next book......sigh......

Don't miss this series!!!

If you could sum up Frost Burned in three words, what would they be?

Captivating storytelling, narration!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love them all. Briggs has characters with great depth, well-developed stories. Always surprising new developments.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

Everything! Great pronunciation, clarity and totally captures each character. My favorite reader.

Any additional comments?

I just finished listening to the latest installment in this series. I'm having serious withdrawal symptoms. Both the story and Lorelei King's storytelling are totally enthralling. Life seems duller without them.

Another great Mercy adventure

Patricia Briggs did it again… she wrote another enthralling book about Mercy. The story was great (I’m not saying why, you have to read it).

Good stories, but....

While the author is very imaginative, and engaging enough to make me want to read the entire series, I really wish she would do better research for the real world aspects of her story. It saddens me to know that she thinks someone can break into your house, tie you to a chair, and beat on you, and the police would only arrest them for trespass? She even made sure to have her characters stage the broken ropes and chair to make it appear the character had to escape his captors, and still had the police only arrest the bad guys for trespass. It is glaring plot holes like this one that keeps me from really enjoying her stories.
