You know, life is funny sometimes. When I stumbled across a strange weather phenomenon in the middle of the woods, I could have sworn that it was just a prank from one of my friends. But the truth was, it was a portal, and as soon as I touched it I found myself in a new world, one filled with orcs and elves and most notably, goblins. The breathtaking beauty of the goblin women was something I never would have expected, but hey. Learn something new every day. They had a problem, though. A serious problem.

Just as good as i knew it would be!
I read the book on paper when it came out and REALLY enjoyed it. So decided to give this a listen when the audio came out just for giggles. Really helped me understand a few things i missed. And the readers voice is like a hot cup of coffee on a snowy morning, just perfect.

A Whole New Whole to Explore
Lovers of High Fantasy will love this story. I want to read more about this alternative world. The characters are so relatable that I cared what happened to them. High Fantasy is one of my favorite genres. I highly recommend this story.

Heather Wohl is a great author. She has a good imagination to be able to write like this. I can't wait to read the next book in this Saga.

I love this fabulous fictional world!
I don't want to give away any of the story. Please go into it completely open minded. There's some sadness, some mystery, some love, some anger, some whimsy. I can't wait to see where the next installment takes us!
Not gonna lie, as with all fantasy books, some of the words and names are hard to process. That also happens with written words but is especially challenging when listening to a book. Thankfully, the author's website has a helpful glossary of terms. Love it when authors do that!
The narration was delightful! It fit the fantasy world perfectly.

fun book
I thought the story line was really fun! I enjoyed learning about all the characters in this story line. I was a little bummed out about the ending although now it looks like book 2 needs to be read!

Captivating story
I had hardly a chance to get to know the characters when my heart was breaking for one from the beginning. Throughout the whole book I was captivated and left wanting to know what happens next. The only issue was the narrator to me it felt like her voice was dull. Apart from that the story was great.
