Publisher's summary
Girls like Neve Slater don’t get gorgeous guys like William. But William’s been in L A for three years, and Neve’s been slimming down in preparation for his return. Then her sister Celia points out that if Neve wants William to think she's an experienced love-goddess then she’d better get some experience - a man to show her the ropes, like Celia’s colleague Max. And since he’s not Neve’s type, she certainly won’t fall for him...

Story
For the last 100,000 years, we Sapiens have accumulated enormous power. But despite all our discoveries, inventions, and conquests, we now find ourselves in an existential crisis. The world is on the verge of ecological collapse. Misinformation abounds. And we are rushing headlong into the age of AI—a new information network that threatens to annihilate us. Story
Our ability to prevent and reverse these conditions—and feel incredible today—is under our control and simpler than we think. The key is our metabolic function—the most important and least understood factor in our overall health. As Dr. Casey Means explains in this book, nearly every health problem we face can be explained by how well the cells in our body create and use energy. To live free from frustrating symptoms and life-threatening disease, we need our cells to be optimally powered so that they can create “good energy,” the essential fuel that impacts every aspect of our wellbeing.

I Got Lost in This Story
I purchased this book solely because of all of the amazing reviews it's received. Now I feel an overwhelming need to write my own because I am ecstatic that I gave it a listen. I really enjoyed the details in this story. I felt as if I personally knew each character. Their struggles, fears, insecurities, and triumphs were so vividly expressed that I found parts of myself in each most of them. I become so wrapped up in Neve and Max and William that for for 3 days I listened to this book as often as I could. I listened in the car, at my desk, underneath the hairdryer, and even in the shower. I'm a little sad that the story is over, but I know this will be a book I'll revisit again in the future.

Very well worth your credit...
The narrator is great, the characters are well developed, and the story is well told. Long, but certainly not boring.

Right to the heart
I found myself split at first on this book. There's humor, there's romance and there's lots of sexy moments. However, I found her naivete annoying sometimes, and her self-deprecating comments even worst. And still, if as a woman I'm honest, there are plenty of times when my mind has played the same stream of consciousness that this woman keeps playing in her head. The moment I admitted to this, the book just really clicked for me. A credit well spent!!

Love it!!
I loved this book!! The narrator did an amazing job as well, especially the little changes in her voice for each person! The story was great and many times I laughed out loud. The author does such a good job with descriptions but not too many that you can picture every scene. Overall great book! A must read!

fantastic book
I loved this book. To listen to the struggle of a woman trying to lose weight is all too real. It's such a relatable book. to go from diet and exercise to trying a detox to move things along. then for her to not ever have experienced being in a relationship and wanting to know what it feels like she will go to whatever length to get that experience. having a pancake boyfriend and then in the end connecting on a whole other level than what was expected, made me scream! I was so excited for her. I loved Neve and Max's "fake" relationship and when it all started to become more than that I was like yeeees girlfriend, get some! it killed me when William had to bring his freaking face in the picture and ruin that... and in the end he was engaged to an airhead. I had all the feels and scream laughed and blushed at romantic scenes. I couldn't get enough. Bravo to this book.
