The opportunity to tour Israel came at a good time. For months, my life has been a mindless plodding through necessary routine, as monotonous as an all-night shift on an assembly line. Life gets that way sometimes, when nothing specific is wrong but the world around us seems drained of color. My weekly worship experiences and daily quiet times with God have felt as dry and stale as last year's crackers. I'm ashamed to confess the malaise I've felt. I have been given so much. Just an absolutely charming story and not fluff. The good core richness of life, learning, love and faith. Endurance and coming to live beyond oneself. Marvelous. Loved it.

Sweet story

Really good, started slow but ended well.
Didn't like the characters at first, but grew to really like them and really enjoyed the book. Narrator is good, no distractions or annoyances. On to the next Lynn Austin book!

Lovely
This book was wonderful. I love the way that the author was the story. Her word choice and lyrical almost fairytale inclusions of hints about what would happen with the story amazing. I was intrigued we cannot wait to hear what would happen next. The characters were lifelike. The author brought the characters to life as well. Her voices and emotion made it enjoyable to listen to.
