Publisher's summary

How does a witch stay safe if a killer can get through her protection spells? Witches like Ruby and Courtney can take care of themselves. So when Courtney is murdered, Ruby's world crashes to a halt. The only thing keeping her grounded is the return of Courtney's brother, Cooper. He seeks revenge, but Ruby wants to help other witches stay alive. To do that, she'll have to reunite with her old coven's High Priest, who also happens to be her cheating ex-boyfriend. If that wasn't awkward enough, when the killer gets too close, Cooper temporarily moves into Ruby's place while a police officer tails her every move. Cooper's presence distracts Ruby as they fight their desire against their need to stay safe. Then Courtney begins to haunt Ruby's dreams and secrets are spilled, things from Cooper's past that could get them both killed. The killer continues to stalk Ruby and the more she discovers, the more she fears she won't be able to keep her heart in her chest.

A darkly delicious read.

Any additional comments?

With a killer on the loose and killing witches in a brutal manner, Ruby knows she needs to be careful but when the killer strikes close to home and makes his intended victim known, Ruby is thrust into a fight for her life and her love.

This is one of those books that grabs you from the very first page and won't let go. It has everything you could want in a book, and more. It has witches, magic, mystery, covens and a side of black magic. You can even tell by the cover that this isn't a fluffy magic kind of book, this is the darkly delicious kind.

I really liked Ruby. She is flawed but strong and smart. When her ex cheated on her, she left their coven because he brought the other woman into it. Now she has to rely on her ex, her best friends ghost and her new love interest to try to solve these murders before she becomes another victim.

The plot of this was really fast paced and captivating. We are brought into the action straight away and swept on an intense journey throughout. It's got so many twists that you have no choice but to suspect each character. I loved that we couldn't really tell the bad guy till the big reveal. The ending wrapped up well so I don't know if there is a sequel planned, but I sure hope to see more from these characters!

Once again, Andrea Emmes nailed the performance. She has never failed to deliver from all the books I've listened that were narrated by her. Each character is given their own voice and she brings the story alive.

Cute: More Fantasy Than Horror

I enjoyed listening to "Witch Hearts". It was fun and had really likeable characters. I really enjoyed Ruby and Cooper. And whenever Ruby followed the note and went to retrieve the Book of Shadows.

Andrea Emmes has a great voice. I should say voices. I love the way she uses several different accents for each character. Another amazing job!

Miranda! She was awesome. I want to have a drink with her. Absolutely hilarious.

Excellent narration!

What made the experience of listening to Witch Hearts the most enjoyable?

Andrea Emmes narration. She breathes life into the characters & gives each one a unique voice to match their personality. I'm not a fan of paranormal romances but Ms Emmes performance made it a joy to listen to. She's found a fan in myself & my wife!
