How does a witch stay safe if a killer can get through her protection spells? Witches like Ruby and Courtney can take care of themselves. So when Courtney is murdered, Ruby's world crashes to a halt. The only thing keeping her grounded is the return of Courtney's brother, Cooper. He seeks revenge, but Ruby wants to help other witches stay alive. To do that, she'll have to reunite with her old coven's High Priest, who also happens to be her cheating ex-boyfriend. If that wasn't awkward enough, when the killer gets too close, Cooper temporarily moves into Ruby's place while a police officer tails her every move. Cooper's presence distracts Ruby as they fight their desire against their need to stay safe. Then Courtney begins to haunt Ruby's dreams and secrets are spilled, things from Cooper's past that could get them both killed. The killer continues to stalk Ruby and the more she discovers, the more she fears she won't be able to keep her heart in her chest.

The audiobook is fun to listen to with a little something for everyone! Romance, suspense, a ghost, witchcraft, laughs. This is my first audiobook by the author and have listened to several audios by Andrea Emmes. She narrates very good and clear.
With a killer on the loose and killing witches in a brutal manner, Ruby knows she needs to be careful but when the killer strikes close to home and makes his intended victim known, Ruby is thrust into a fight for her life and her love.
This is one of those books that grabs you from the very first page and won't let go. It has everything you could want in a book, and more. It has witches, magic, mystery, covens and a side of black magic. You can even tell by the cover that this isn't a fluffy magic kind of book, this is the darkly delicious kind.
I really liked Ruby. She is flawed but strong and smart. When her ex cheated on her, she left their coven because he brought the other woman into it. Now she has to rely on her ex, her best friends ghost and her new love interest to try to solve these murders before she becomes another victim.
The plot of this was really fast paced and captivating. We are brought into the action straight away and swept on an intense journey throughout. It's got so many twists that you have no choice but to suspect each character. I loved that we couldn't really tell the bad guy till the big reveal. The ending wrapped up well so I don't know if there is a sequel planned, but I sure hope to see more from these characters!
Once again, Andrea Emmes nailed the performance. She has never failed to deliver from all the books I've listened that were narrated by her. Each character is given their own voice and she brings the story alive.

It makes me happy to wake up everyday and look forward to listening. Many times I listen while doing artwork. I find it very relaxing.
I enjoyed listening to "Witch Hearts". It was fun and had really likeable characters. I really enjoyed Ruby and Cooper. And whenever Ruby followed the note and went to retrieve the Book of Shadows.
Andrea Emmes has a great voice. I should say voices. I love the way she uses several different accents for each character. Another amazing job!

Lots of twists and turns in this book, I thought I knew who did it a couple times and I was wrong every time. I love a book that keeps me guessing. No down time either, this book keeps you interested.
Miranda! She was awesome. I want to have a drink with her. Absolutely hilarious.
Yes, I wanted to find out who the killer was. I wanted to smack Ruby a couple times though.. 'there is a killer after me, guess I will just go off by myself'
The narration by Andrea Emmes is perfect. She has a great voice, and gives so much personality to the characters. I adored how she read Miranda, it had me laughing out loud.
Andrea Emmes narration. She breathes life into the characters & gives each one a unique voice to match their personality. I'm not a fan of paranormal romances but Ms Emmes performance made it a joy to listen to. She's found a fan in myself & my wife!
Yes. I read the Kindle version of this book a couple years ago, and its a favorite.
None - it's in a class by itself.
She was able to perform the characters perfectly.
