When Flora, James, and their two teenage daughters are offered the holiday of a lifetime in a chateau in the South of France in return for one simple good deed, they jump at the chance. "Compulsively readable." (The Times)
"Hilarious and full of surprises." (Daily Telegraph)
I'd take out half the adjectives . "Glorious" is certainly very overused .
It started off well but sagged in the middle .
Very easy to listen to .
Most of it .

I always look forward to another book from this author. This one, however, was below average. The story line is thin without compensating charm, the characters annoying, and the narration breathy. Two stars because I made it to the end. I would skip this one.
This starts slowly & I nearly gave up , but it evolves in a thought provoking and enjoyable listen . Glad I stuck with it
"Not the greatest Catherine Alliott book."
Disappointing, storyline is weak and very predictable.
If you are looking for an easy listen without concentrating too much, this is for you. If you require something substantial with realistic story lines them give this a miss.
"Enjoyable holiday read"
Good entertaining storyline couldnt stop listening. Transported to the South of France with extended family enjoyed the characters and family relationships with many unexpected twists and turns to the story.
"Really enjoyed this a lot"
Highly recommended - great plot and well written, especially characterisation. couldn't put it down. Also descriptions of scenery.
