so good. story. character development. narrator. all of it so good. the depiction of what life was like in the south in the 60s. what it was like for white and black people, especially women. I loved it.

A Beautifully written story that touched my heart over and over.

Great story, great performance, great characters
I loved the story, except that it has a slow start. The main character is great, I couldn't believe that a 10 year old would be interesting and smart; I usually prefer at least a teenager's view of things. In some parts, it tells the problems with colored people, and it's astounding to hear what they go through. The narrator does a really good job reading this book. Highly recommend it.

This was a perfect coming-of-age book.
I absolutely loved this book. It was heartwarming, sweet, and an incredible coming-of-age story! I 100% recommend it. I have read 110 books this year, and this one is at the top of the list!
