    "Enjoyable listening."
What made the experience of listening to Whispering Rock the most enjoyable?

Continuation of the existing characters with adding Mike and Brees' new story to the mix.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Whispering Rock?

When Bree gave herself to Mike after her rape.

What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?

I love the way Therese reads stories. She just puts you into the scene with her inflections and voice changes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Brenda ran into Tom's arms.

"Another great story of Virgin River."
Would you listen to Whispering Rock again? Why?

    Yes

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of them. A close knit family not afraid to love and care for each other.

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

She brings them all to life.

If you could take any character from Whispering Rock out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Preacher. He'd grumble the whole way.

    Any additional comments?

Full of hope, courage and love.

    "Enjoyable from beginning to end."

An enjoyable read, on its own or as part of the series. I originally listened to the books as I came upon them and enjoyed them so much I listened to them again in order.

    "Thoughtful romance..."
What did you love best about Whispering Rock?

Another great romance from Robyn Carr. I love a good romance, but I like for there to be a mystery for the reader to decipher or some sort of drama from which the characters grow. This book has all of that... It shows characters with rich character development, and also those with very immature character development -- unethical characters. This book addresses the impact of rape, date rape, adultery and betrayal, and life after those devastating events. The tone and tenor of the book is solemn and respectful. As a character... you are either in the respectful good guy/gal camp -- or not. The tone and tenor is very different from the Kresley Cole series -- paranormal with flippant sarcasm. I like both types of tones even though they are so different. I'll definitely download the next Robyn Carr book. I'm a fan.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Whispering Rock?

When Preacher declares that it's ovulation day.

What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?

She's an excellent narrator and I liked her for MOST of the book. I don't like it when she speaks in Spanish because the accent is all wrong. In the future, she should get a latino actor to come in and then mimic the phrase for the audio version. Otherwise, she's one of my favorites.

If you could take any character from Whispering Rock out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Maybe Mel. She's very likable and seems like she could carry a great conversation. She respects your privacy but will be open and honest. When Jack had concerns about Mike dating his sister Bree and stated something to the effect that Mike was a dog and probably wanted to get laid, Mel responded saying that that was irrelevant. She noted that it shouldn't count against Mike if he wants to get closer to the woman he loves.

"Didn't care for this one at all....skip it!"

I like a romance novel to be about a man and a woman' s relationship, and how it evolves.

Seems like the author of this novel was once a gynecologist or midwife herself... far to much focus on giving birth, gyno exams, STDs, date rape, midwifery, and babies. Probably written for teens and very young women - too many parts of it came across as "educational" in nature.

The men, some of whom were really just boys, were all tall, handsome, muscular and just too darned "sensitive" to be be believable. No edge to them at all when they were around the women. And the women were all tiny, perfect and beautiful (except, of course, for the poor woman giving birth on the birthing video, who was described as sweaty and hairy). So unrealistic it was kind of sickening .... far too sappy and "sweet" for my taste.

A pet peeve....I hated that the men always said nah instead of no, and yeah instead of yes. And every woman's name was "baby" to them. Just got really annoying...they all sounded like a bunch of unsophisticated hicks. Small towns folks are just not that ignorant any more, if they ever were.

The narrator was just OK...not bad, but not great either. By the end of the story, the characters all sounded alike.

I started listening to this series in order, based on the reviews, and thought the first one was promising, and the second was just OK, but this one put me off completely. I will not be continuing with it.

    "What a pice of garbage!"

Wow. Sum up every romance novel ever, put them in a blender and pick your parts. This book was so horrible I can truly say that i can not belive it was published. A book one ones own life would be less predictable than this pice of junk. No wonder it was on sale. I want my time and my money back!

"How to develop a Great Series"

Ms Carr knows how to develop a great series. Start with a strong central character and then keep building more and more stories about other strong characters around the original. I love these books.
