I loved this book. At first the thought of the whole book being told via e-mail, text messages, letters and instant messages was a bit off putting. But please don't let that deter you. It was funny, sad and romantic and well worth the read.
I loved that this story had it all to be an exceptional romantic comedy. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it just kept me wanting and wanting for more.
Rosie Dunn because she is absolutely funny and would love to have her as a friend.
The very, very 5 minutes were a little anoying to listen, but as the characters grew older, the story became amazing.
I loved it, I loved it , I loved it! Ms Ahern has the ability to reduce the reader to tears of sadness but more often of mirth with this wonderful tale of Rosie and Alex. It spans 50 years and is written as a series of e-mails, instant messages and letters between the many characters in this book. The author has described the characters brilliantly, making them warm, engaging and funny and the narrator brings them to life perfectly. I would recommend this book to anyone and will look out for more titles by Cecilia Ahern.
This is an excellent book and truly addictive. I found myself going on long journeys just so that I could listen to it in the car. I had never read anything of hers before, but I am now searching for all titles by her....come on audiobooks, stock some more.
"Nice story, but annoying writing style"
I liked the narrator, but did not actually enjoy the writing style that much.
The story was interesting but I did not like the letter/email/message-like style of writing. I expected this style to change after the first (few) chapters to "normal" writing style.
I liked the story, but would have preferred another format.
"Great book fab narration"
Loved it and read very well. It's a difficult read I would think but she carried it off superbly. Really enjoyed this one.
Initially I was unsure if i would like a book that was, infact, a series of letters, emails and instant messages. It is fabulous, loved it.
"One of my favourites!"
I love lots of books by Cecilia Ahern but this is probably my favourite. I love the format of letters, emails etc and it's just a constant Will They, Won't They? Story. Each time you think they're going to get together something gets in the way, it's so frustrating but it just draws you in further and further and keeps you wanting to read the next bit. Beautiful, funny, heartwarming!
I highly recommend this book!! The characters are AMAZINGLY ORIGINAL, laugh-out-loud funny and heart-warming. The story twists and turns and you will never guess what will happen next! This book is a guaranteed boredom-chaser, but I warn you: it's highly addictive!!!!
"Read this book!"
This is a seriously good book that I cannot recommend enough. It made me laugh, cry and grumble in frustration. I was swept along with the characters the whole way through, part of me wishing I could find out what happened in the end, and the other part wishing I could prolong it. Well worth a read!
great story. All the way through you just wanted them to get together. Amusing how the off spring behave the same.
A really good, funny entertaining listen. I would like to have had a teeny bit more at the end...see a bit more of what happens next. I loved the characters & the format was fine, apart from the narrator reading 're' as 'r' 'e'...but that didn't change my enjoyment of the story.
