C.S. Harris’ best-selling Sebastian St. Cyr mysteries transport listeners back to the elegance and courtly drama of Regency England. When a wealthy diamond merchant turns up dead, Sebastian sets out to prove the innocence of the man accused - his former lover Kat’s husband. A missing gem seems to be the key, but as Sebastian traces its origins, he discovers unsettling ties to black magic.

Yes. I'll let sometime go by before listening to it again. It is well written and the performance is good.
Just as the previous books in the series, this plot kept my interest to the end.
When the bad guys are found out. I won't specify by giving away details.
I enjoy the interaction between Sebastian and Hero.
I believe the author is making the main characters more mature and likable as the series continues. I look forward to the next one. I hope it will soon have the WS4VR feature.

Historical mysteries are my favorite genre to begin with, and this series reminds me of Anne Perry's many novels.
It is a series that needs to be listened to in order of being written. Since I must wait until next spring for the latest book in the "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, this could give me the "fix" I need to endure the wait.
With Davina Porter narrating, it brings the best there is to capturing the essence of a British mystery.
Audible only has 3 of the novels and not in order.....Please read at least one of the three to enjoy and get "hooked" on Sebastian Sr Cyr, and maybe, the editors at Audible.com will check the series and add the missing books. I have resorted to buying the written version, and I really miss Davina Porter's wonderful narration.
Any scenes with Hero and Sebastion (especially Sebastian's admitting he has fallen in love with Hero). Also scenes of Jarvis!
If you like historical novels, you'll adore this series. The characters are all multidimensional and wonderfully developed, book after book. The writing is fluid and sophisticated. I sure hope Miss Harris will never stop writing.
Sebastian St Cyr is one of my favorite detectives in a series. The series is set in Regency England and the period detail is excellent. The particular mystery here is the murder of a man who loaned money to the wealthy in exchange for holding some of their precious paintings and jewels -- a Regency Loan Shark to the Genty. Lot so twists and turns.
Since many of the characters reappear in all the novels in the series - I would recommend starting with the first book in the series. While not on Audible it is available on the Kindle. So start with the first book - they are not long read and are lots of fun.
As always Davina Porter supplies a superb narration.
Interesting novel of Sebastian St Cyr chasing down the Hope Diamond. It involves the military, higher ranking public figures, and more. I liked this book also because Hero St Cyr is researching how young homeless children live on the streets as street sweepers and older boys act as 'pimps' to match up the wealthy men to the whores. A great book about English life at all levels in the mid-1800s.

Complicated plots and finely detailed characters are yet again the author's hallmark.
A mystery lover's delight!
Absolute bluestocking & love it!!
Historical mystery at its best! Another great twisting plot! Each book maintains the same great dialogue and growth of characters and another good story!
I love Elizabeth Peters, Diane Mott Davidson, Amanda Quick and Jude Deveroux. I Love Barbara Rosenblat. She has made me a Audio Reader. I also like Lisa Scottaline, and Linda Fairstein. I wish Barbara Rosenblat could read for everybody. She is wonderful.
