Just when Captain Don Harr and the crew of the SSMC Reluctant think that they are free and clear of military rule, a group of self-proclaimed uber-intelligent beings who call themselves The Overseers show up.
The Overseers, like most anyone who gets to the top of the ladder, want to make certain that no upstart can ever challenge their position. Thus, anyone who is deemed a threat dies. But a new political group has had it with all the butchery, so the ruling class has to try a new angle.
To this end, they conscript the members of Platoon F into service and set them on a sabotage mission against a planet called Kallian, which is on the brink of discovering warp technology.
If the Kallian scientists fail, all will be well; but if they succeed, Kallian will have to be destroyed... and so will the crew of Platoon F.

Although the print version is hilarious, Logsdon's voices and his comedic timing make this one a must hear. The characters come alive in the audiobook.
It is hard to say what I liked best. The book is well written in the same vein as Douglas Adams with the sarcasm level of Monty Python. The narration brings the characters to life and makes the listener part of the crew.
His performance was perfect. I just loved all the different voices.
I could have listened to it in one sitting, but I wanted to savor it. I would, and am, listening to it again.
Well done on the funniest Sci/Fi book in a long time. I look forward to the other books in the series.
Inostrancevia - the uber Gorgonopsian.
Warped Conduit is a rare audiobook indeed. It starts out funny and actually stays funny until the end. Mix in an assortment of unique characters with their individual quirks and you have a gem of a listen. I heartily recommend this audiobook.
This is the first audiobook in the series. I hope the authors keep this series alive as there are only a precious few truly funny space opera-esque sci-fi audiobooks out there for people like me and the previous reviewer to purchase. Maybe they can shove books 1-5 into an omnibus audiobook. I would snap it up in a heartbeat.
Warped Conduit has just about every thing an audiobook should offer - suspense, humor, witty conversations about perceived sexual orientation and at least 8-9 solid gold shut down comments wielded mainly by the kill crazy blonde death goddess.
This audiobook is filled with memorable characters that range from the previously mentioned ruthless blonde hard body who wants nothing more than to corpse up every single person she comes into the slightest contact with, to a midget alien boxing champion / master sergeant, to a male slut who errs egregiously in his tail selection, to Captain Don Harr who plays it straight and grabs the prize in the end, and lastly, General I forget his name who had a bunch of memorable conversations with his subordinate that had me busting up.
If you are looking for some deep expose on the true meaning of humanity's ephemeral relationship to blah, blah, blah ....... don't go looking here. If, on the other hand, you want to have an enjoyable time listening to a funny story about a space ship crew's adventures on an alien planet then Warped Conduit is the book for you. Drop the dime, it's well worth your time!
Hope Audible picks up more of this series. These have been fun space opera romps with a bunch of goofy humor. Some is a bit sophomoric, but it's tongue in cheek sci-fi for when you just want something fun to listen to. Author actually does a very good voice performance as well.
"Fun science fiction"
Very much enjoyed this audio book, inventive, humorous and likeable characters. Fun narration and good vocal performance. Listened in the car and it brightened up my journeys. Will listen to and read some more Platoon F soon.
The characters are brought to life, not only by excellent writing but by the authors superb voice skills. I found the humour to be right up my street and the story holds your interest from beginning to end. The character Don Har, is the glue that holds it all together. "5 Stars - Pant Wettingly Funny"
The performance of the characters was consistent and easy to follow. There was a huge range of voices which gave it a fuller experience. The narration kept a good pace but the words were clear and well executed.
This is the 6th book in the Platoon F series and is a superb continuation of an already established Story. The characters as further developed here but you do not need to have read the others before enjoying this one. This can be listened to in isolation.
The author narrated the book and therefore is read with all the inflection and meaning that was intended and sometimes missed by the reader. There are other elements like little chuckles from a character at the end of a sentence which are not in the book.
I listened to this book in 2 sittings.
The Bloopers Reel at the end of the book will have you in stitches. It is not something that I have heard other Audiobooks offer and I think that it is a brilliant addition.
