Now Taita answers the summons from the beyond. He leaves the deserts' vastness and returns to the world of men, to find himself plunged into a terrible conflict against the forces of evil that threaten to overwhelm the throne and the realm of Egypt, and to destroy the young prince Nefer, who is the grandson of Queen Lostris.
With vivid depictions of battle and intrigue, of love and passion, with fascinating characters both good and evil, Wilbur Smith brings to life in colourful detail the world of ancient Egypt.

I remember reading this years ago and being enthralled. Either my tastes have changed radically or somehow the narration let me down. I was bored. The language was good, the story was gripping, but overall I found it dull.
"slow to start"
I have read the other two books in this series and loved them, warlock is good but it is a little slower and does not seem to bring you into the stories as the first two books did. the start was slow the middle started to get into the story and the end is a little boring. saying that I cannot wait to read book 4 in the series.
This is a fantastic 3rd part to a terrific story. A must for any Wilbur Smith fan
