So much better than reading on my own

I read this years ago and watched the mini series- this narration by Kevin Pariseau is phenomenal!! Wouk writes beautifully, but Pariseau’s narration really brings the characters to life. Long listen but so worth it!

Excellent in every way!

These two audible books are the greatest I've ever listened to. The narrator is excellent. I listened to both The Winds Of War and this one. I watched the mini series in the 80s and had remembered the stories somewhat but this narration makes it all come alive.
I had lots of windshield time and it was well over 100 hours to listen to both but I always looked forward to it and was never bored. The narrator does an excellent performance with a different voice tone and accent for all characters. Excellent!!

Stupendous saga of WWII

Though I am not normally drawn to stories of war and history, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. This is work that I believe gives an excellent sense of what happened to the world during this time of history. It was captivating until the end.

An amazing feat!

One of the most enjoyable, and enlightening books I've ever read. The history is impeccably accurate, and the storytelling is spot on. This was a superlative work by a master! If you love history, particularly WWII history, you must read this book, along with his first masterpiece, Winds of War.

Amazing Story

I love Herman Wouk's writing style. I have read Winds of War and War and Remembrance multiple times. The audible version is very good and the Narrator does a great job of delivering the story in this format. Both books are hard to put down/stop listening.

And a great way to teach us while entertaining us. Did not like this as much as WOW - but both are favorites and five stars

Where does War and Remembrance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As a must read, especially if you've read "The Winds of War," but not necessarily at the top of the list.

What other book might you compare War and Remembrance to and why?

"Gone With The Wind" is a good comparison, albeit written from another era.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Pariseau – was your favorite?

Perhaps Victor "Pug" Henry --- he really brought out the personality of Henry in his performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, taking a rest to digest the events drove the story.
