Just Okay

I was hoping for a lot more out of this as Alice Clayton's "Hudson Valley" series is one of my favorites. But the story was so slow... Also, Caroline's character irritates the hell out of me. All in all, it was okay. I've come to realize that enemies to lovers isn't my favorite trope, especially when done in this manner.

not nearly as funny as intended, and the metaphors for her orgasm were over the top and in the first sex scene, confusing beyond belief.
I love a good spicy book as much as the next person, but the last 5-6 chapters being exclusively sex was a bit much.
I'm mad at myself for finishing it.

Loved this story

Just enough humor to make the characters realistic. I’m happy that the author didn’t rush to jump into bed.

Fun Read!!

Call me crazy, but I’m rating this a 5 Star read! This book is hilarious and so much fun to read! There were several times I did kind of cringe at the narration (mostly during the sex scenes); however, it really was perfect for this over-the-top couple!! I also did get frustrated with them at times (just do the deed already; you know you want too)!! But, oh boy, when they finally connected it was so good!! Then, it wasn’t (poor girl) - That dang elusive O…. Then, there’s Clive! That chase scene (if you’ve read the book, you know what I’m referring to) had me in stitches!! I loved it!

The cat is the best part of the story...

What did you like best about Wallbanger? What did you like least?

I liked the cat because of his personality. The story had a lot of potential but was a very frustrating listen due to the girl in the story always second guessing herself or being super annoying by over thinking EVERYTHING! Most issues could have been resolved if she'd just communicate! Ugh!

Otherwise it's a good listen when you don't want to make your brain think.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The cat. I found the neighbor's career quite interesting.

What aspect of Heather Smith’s performance would you have changed?

She's a bit too breathy. You end up concentrating on her breathing verses reading.

Was Wallbanger worth the listening time?

No not really. The story has a great potential if we'd remove the hours of second guessing and overthinking from the main female character. If she would just commuicate her thoughts I think it wouldve been a far more interesting and fun story!

Premise is good. Had potential.

I have lots of books in my library and this is definitely one of my all time favorites. It was a great mix of romance & comedy. There were times when this book had me laughing out loud. The story was entertaining and the narrator was great. Your credit will not be wasted on this one.

Too Bad About the Ending

I thought the first 75% of the book was great! The ending seemed to drag on and on. It was repetitive and should have been shortened considerably.

Fun quick and entertaining although slightly annoying protagonist and a few obvious editing errors. Still enjoyed and would recommend

The story is well written. Witty and enjoyable!! I laughed out loud at certain parts.

I don't think it compares to other books I have read. Original story.

I liked Caroline. She was hysterical. Poor girl lost her "O" :(

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. It was very entertaining and I enjoyed listening to it. Finished it in three days.
