Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, a beautiful combat helicopter pilot crashed to the Earth. For weeks she lies sleeping, waiting for her princess to wake her from her slumber.

Chris Carlson, her heroine and a shy school teacher, comes to her rescue, by contacting Madame Eve to make all her dreams come true. Little does she know, the one magical kiss that wakes beauty will also start a snowball reaction, one that will change her life forever.

Sometimes, life's greatest challenges also bring the biggest blessings, and when you walk through fire, it makes you appreciate what you fought for so much more.

Chris is about to step into an inferno.

Fairy Tale Love Story

This story has a harder edge than the other Madame Eve stories, it includes arrest, incarceration and assault. This is partially the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, the other part is that the reason behind the entire sequence of events is pretty much ignored in the aftermath of the assault. Other than those factors this is the usual great story from the Madame Eve series, the couple are lovable, the trials they've been through are enough to make them sympathetic to me. I've recently become close to a wounded female vet with PTSD issues, though for different reasons than Alex and I've seen the fear, the pain the loneliness and loss that comes with that diagnosis so this story struck a personal note with me. Given the premium our society places on a woman's looks, scars and lost limbs are particularly hard on the female veterans, i know they have been on my friend, I'm hoping to find a story on Audible that addresses this issue. As for this book, it's quite good, enjoy.

The Re-Telling of Sleeping Beauty

If you could sum up Waking Beauty in three words, what would they be?

Complicated, Modern Fable. It is the strangest, most complicated re-telling of Sleeping Beauty I have ever heard. The fact its between two woman hardly matters; in that it only adds to just one more of the many many complication that is keeping them apart. When all that is needed is just the magic kiss of true love, But getting true loves in the same room and on the same page, that is another matter.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Waking Beauty?

The end when Beauty finally wakes, and they have finally kissed, and finally look into each others eyes and know it really is true love. But I am a sap.

What does Hollie Jackson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hollie Jackson is my favorite narrator, she makes stories seem magical, she makes you believe magic can be real for just that one second, her inflection is so well timed, and her voice so pleasing to the ear. And the way she can do more than one voice talking is just awesome. That is just some of the reasons she is my favorite.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Modern telling of Sleeping Beauty- In a Coma and only the Kiss from True Love can wake her, not modern medicine.

Any additional comments?

I know this was just a short story but I really loved it. It was full of trouble for our would be lovers, Police, jail, separation at ever step, as one is placed deeper into a medical coma, the other, taken farth away from her love in a comedy of errors and hate,- will true love ever be enough?
