Finding beauty in the midst of ashes ...

Excellent narration makes this story of joy after tragedy come to life in a splendid listening experience. Well written and active characters take the reader across the plains of Kansas as they learn the blessing of trusting God with their future.

Wonderful

This is the author's debut novel? This is a very well written and thought provoking inspirational piece. Very impressive. It is food for the heart and the soul. Of course, the narration by Barbara Caruso absolutely makes this a must-read novel. Her narration is a large part of why this novel is so much better for me as an audiobook, than it would have been on paper. Kudos, to author and narrator for a wonderful read. I can't wait for your next novel.

Waiting for Summer's Return

I would have rated the story five stars had it not been for such an abrupt ending. Other than that the book was very very good. Enjoyed the author. The narrator absolutely made the story come alive. I may have found another favorite author.

Outstanding narration!!

What a sweet and hopeful story. It is not sappy at all, but conveys hope and the love of God in the midst of pain and loss.....using believable characters set in an early American time.
The narrator brings everyone to life: accents and all! She is very gifted!!

An endearing story

I loved the incorporation of faith and enjoy stories from this era. The narrator was excellent and the German accent and language was very good.

Wonderful Christian Romance

I have enjoyed every Kim Vogel Sawyer book I have listened to and this did not disappoint. It explores the prejudice that can occur to many types of people, especially when they don’t take the time to get to know each other. It emphasizes what can happen when you love the Lord.

Beautiful Story!

Wonderful characters, engaging storyline. Such a wonderful depiction of God creating beauty from ashes. Characters were so well-rounded; when the story ended it was like saying good-bye to good friends. Narration was spot-on!
