Publisher's summary

The peach taffeta Bridesmaid dress- that should be Sophie’s problem. Not attempted murder.

Overjoyed at Maryanne’s engagement, amateur sleuth Sophie Katz can’t wait for the wedding vows and party toasts to begin. But then Dena—best friend, bridesmaid, and all-around vixen—is mysteriously shot just after the announcement. Leave this to the authorities? No way. Dena may never walk again, and Sophie vows to marry her fists with the shooter’s face.

Problem is, the number of suspects is off the charts—from jaded lovers to anti-free-lovers to just plain old haters. Dena’s made plenty of enemies thanks to her popular sex shop—and, yes, she’s no saint—but really, who deserves to be shot?

With an überlogical almost boyfriend condemning her vigilante quest, and a wedding planner going vicariously bridezilla over the dream princess wedding, Sophie’s barely thinking straight. But if she can keep her cool (and avoid all errant taffeta), she just might nab her man and save the (wedding) day.

Big if.

Not worth a credit or even the sale price

The narrator did a lousy job with the accents. The plot and the characters were mundane. It was paced like a typical cookie-cutter Harlequin romance-- no surprises

A Must Read!

This is a must read who-dunnit. Within minutes, Dena is shot in Maryanne's apartment and the rest of the novel is a classily woven who-done-it. There are many twist, turns and interesting backstories. Anatoly get fleshed out and we learn that he has secrets -- so there is a lot of meat in the backstories.

Garra Zackman continue to do a great job narrating and I've become accustomed to her reasonable pace and excellent control of the character interactions.

You want to read this novel and you are going to want to get to the next one as soon as possible. Keep the series going, its still has legs.

Thoroughly unlikable characters

What's meant to be smart, hip, funny and clever turns out to be flat, disagreeable and completey boring. What is this story's ultimate downfall isn't the mediocre reading, but the fact that it's simply not well-written. The main character, Sophie, in particular is hypocritical, judgmental and downright stupid, all the while the author tries to make the audience believe, Sophie, is smart, funny and likable. In fact most of the characters in the book are thoroughly unpleasant and the ones who aren't are woefully underdeveloped. I'm glad I bought this while it was on sale, but unfortunately, unlike a book, I can't give it away even to a charity. I'm stuck with the dud.

Loved it!

If you like the other Kyra Davis books, than you will LOVE this one! All the witty characters are back for another mystery, I laughed out loud several times. I could not stop listening to it. I have to say the hardest thing is that there is a cliff hanger at the end and I can not wait till the next book comes out!!!

Really Good!

Great story! If you are a fan of the series, this one was much better than the last. Excellent cliff-hanger at the end. Good character distinction in the narration except for the fact that every now and then the narrator would slip and use the wrong voice for a character. Other than that, I really enjoyed this one!

Sophie is an immature liar.

Previously I have adored the Sophie Katz books but her thoughtless behavior and lies, deception of her boyfriend have become exhausting. She expects him to be a mind reader and clearly her thoughts are all over the place. The lies make her completely unlikable. She’s untrustworthy.

I love listening to Gabra Zackman

Gabra Zackman is perfect for the narration to the Sophie Katz books. I choose my recording as much for the narrator as for the author. I have read all the Sophie books, and this is my least favorite. It's not bad, but it goes on and drags a little in the last quarter. Also, I thought there was a little gratuitous sex that wasn't really that interesting nor did it contribute much to the plot. The plot itself was good, but it took longer than necessary to develop ad solve. I'm not sorry I invested the time in it, but don't think I would recommend this very strongly. And not nearly as highly as the other Sophie books.

Not worth your time or credit

I guess I did not expect much, but I at least hoped it would be a little fun. It was boring and not worth the time. Little plot and shallow characters.

Very good

My favorite in the series so far. I guess you learn more about the characters under extremes.
