Publisher's summary

The peach taffeta Bridesmaid dress- that should be Sophie’s problem. Not attempted murder.

Overjoyed at Maryanne’s engagement, amateur sleuth Sophie Katz can’t wait for the wedding vows and party toasts to begin. But then Dena—best friend, bridesmaid, and all-around vixen—is mysteriously shot just after the announcement. Leave this to the authorities? No way. Dena may never walk again, and Sophie vows to marry her fists with the shooter’s face.

Problem is, the number of suspects is off the charts—from jaded lovers to anti-free-lovers to just plain old haters. Dena’s made plenty of enemies thanks to her popular sex shop—and, yes, she’s no saint—but really, who deserves to be shot?

With an überlogical almost boyfriend condemning her vigilante quest, and a wedding planner going vicariously bridezilla over the dream princess wedding, Sophie’s barely thinking straight. But if she can keep her cool (and avoid all errant taffeta), she just might nab her man and save the (wedding) day.

Big if.

horrible story teller

The overall story was good. But the reader's voices were painful to listen to. She sounded corny and unbelievable.

Great Fun and Mystery

I have yet to disocover a writer that combines murder and fun so deftly. I cannot wait for her next one. Best when narrated by Grabra.

Gotta Love Sophie!!! Four Star!

I'm a fan of Sophie, Anatoly, and the gang. There is not much Kyra can do with these characters that I probably would not like since I've gotten to know them throughout this series...that being said, while I thoroughly enjoyed the story...I found myself missing Anatoly. If you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy this story...but you might find yourself asking what's missing like I did...

I'm pleased with the set up for the next book, because after this one I'm looking forward to lots of interaction/conflicts between Sophie and Anatoly.

Would definitely recommend.

Like this series

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book because I like the entire series. I would not recommend reading this book without reading the earlier books. I am looking forward to the next one!

Fun, silly, girly mystery.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if they were just looking for something short and easy and entertaining but not serious.

Which character – as performed by Gabra Zackman – was your favorite?

I thought she did a great job with all of them. Marianne was funny because she said things that were so dumb.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did laugh. Some of the lines were just so cheesy they were funny.

Good but…

I liked this story but Jason and Deena cursed unnecessarily… it was irritating….Not sure if I will be continuing the series…

Not the best

Narrator sometimes gets voices confused and uses the incorrect voice for bit. Annoying. Not the best of the series.

Enough already

I wanted to like this book. I really did. I liked the first two books, hated the third, and skipped the fourth, since I had gotten this one on a special deal. I really liked the characters in the first two books. This book, well, I have no idea why Anatoly is still taking the crap Sophie dishes out constantly; Sophie has turned into a self-righteous shrew, and Mary Ann is starting to seem like the only sane and smart one in the bunch. The joke about peach taffeta was so overused as to become painful. Sigh. I won't be coming back for more, even if another one is written. I'll stick to C.E. Murphy for my Gabra Zackman fix.

Dragged on...

Would you try another book from Kyra Davis and/or Gabra Zackman?

No

What was most disappointing about Kyra Davis’s story?

I think she tried to be edgy and it came through as cheesy. No suspense at all.

What didn’t you like about Gabra Zackman’s performance?

Mail voices are wimpy, female voices sound like they have colds.

Any additional comments?

This was a waste of time. I should have dumped it but I stuck it out.
