Publisher's summary

It's five days before Christmas and things are not looking merry for Fugitive Apprehension Agent Stephanie Plum. She hasn't got a tree. She hasn't bought any presents. The malls are jam-packed with staggering shoppers. There's not a twinkle light anywhere to be seen in her apartment.

And there's a strange man in her kitchen.

Sure, this has happened to Stephanie Plum before. Strangers, weirdos, felons, creeps, and lunatics are always finding their way to her front door. But this guy is different. This guy is mysterious, sexy—and he has his own agenda. His name is Diesel and he is a man on a mission. And Diesel is unlike anyone Stephanie has ever met before in her life. The question is, what does he want with her? Can he help her find a little old toy maker who has skipped out on his bail right before Christmas? Can he survive the Plum family holiday dinner? Can he get Stephanie a tree that doesn't look like it was grown next to a nuclear power plant? These questions and more are keeping Stephanie awake at night. Not to mention the fact that she needs to find a bunch of nasty elves, her sister Valerie has a Christmas "surprise" for the Plums, her niece Mary Alice doesn't believe in Santa anymore, and Grandma Mazur has a new stud muffin. So bring out the plastic reindeer, strap on your jingle bells, and get ready to celebrate the holidays—Jersey style. In Janet Evanovich's Visions of Sugar Plums, the world of Plum has never been merrier!

Tongue-in-Cheek Christmas Humor

If you like Stephanie Plum and the regular Evanovich cast of characters, you'll get a kick out of this chance to revisit them. Yes, it's a little far fetched in the "Sandy Claws" theme and the elf toymakers, but I embarrassed myself often by laughing out load in grocery store lines, malls and at home (I was wearing headphones), while listening to the antics of Grandma Mazur, Lulu and the rest.

A Stephanie Plum Christmas

Janet Evanovich released this fun and delightful little novella for Christmas 2002. The book features the stumbling and bumbling Stephanie Plum from the 22 novels in this long running series. Lorelei King narrates nicely.

Stephanie Plum ROCKS!

I LOVE the Stephanie Plum series - although, I must admit, nobody reads them better than CJ Critt!! Lorelei King has a pleasant enough voice, but I first listened to the "Full" series and so to me she will always be the voice of Jamie Swift.
That said... this book was very cute - a perfect quickie for the holiday season. The regular characters are all there and, perfectly befitting Janet Evanovich, some new and equally amusing characters have been thrown into the mix.
They're all fun and are certain to make you laugh.
Janet Evanovich is one of my favorites. I listen to her books whenever I just want to smile. Call me crazy, but Stephanie Plum has become my favorite carpool buddy! ha ha

Dissappointed

This is no where near as good as the other books in this series.

Hilarious Bounty Hunter

Would you consider the audio edition of Visions of Sugar Plums to be better than the print version?

Definitely! I have read the book as well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Visions of Sugar Plums?

Family sitting down to eat a Holiday meal together! Hilarious!

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

She does a splendid job of doing the different voices.

If you could take any character from Visions of Sugar Plums out to dinner, who would it be and why?

LuLu. She' s wild and dresses to suit herself.

Any additional comments?

I love reading the books by Janet Evonovich, because she never fails to make me laugh.

OK

Not quite at the level of the main series (at least the early ones) but OK.

Plum Silly

This is a light story, silly and funny. I don't care for the 'paranormal' aspects, but I enjoyed the story. Hard not to - Janet Evanovich is plum hilarious!

easy way to get through a 3 hour ride

What did you like best about Visions of Sugar Plums? What did you like least?

Anyone who has read one book in this series knows not to be expecting a groundbreaking thriller. This one s no exception. Howevr, it is mildly amusing and since it so short, you can get though it in one car ride.

What was most disappointing about Janet Evanovich’s story?

No ranger in this one.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does a good job.

Could you see Visions of Sugar Plums being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

NOT Katherine Hegle

Christmas in July

I enjoy all of the Stephanie Plum books and wasn't sure how I would like the "between the numbers" book Writing a short story isn't easy but fortunately Janet Evanovich does well. The book is typical Plum with her meeting another hot guy and messing up her captures yet again. Its a nice book to listen to again in the middle of July because it gets you out of the hot doldrums. The only thing I'm curious about is how would CJ Critt do the voice of Diesel. I have both versions of To The Nines and recently listened to both so I'm now curious how CJ Critt's Diesel would sound.
