Publisher's summary

A savage and sensuous chronicle of a contemporary vampire seeking vengeance against God. For centuries Victor Decimus, former Roman officer under Pontius Pilate, has fed his rage with blood. Desperately in love with but ultimately rejected by the young Jesus, Victor turns on the citizens of Jerusalem in a frenzy of rape and violence, leaving him no escape but through entry into the chaotic world of darkness he finds as a vampire.

Two thousand years later, in the guise of a monk, Victor takes up residence in the monastery of St. Thomas, nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. In Brother Michael he finds a hint of the love he has sought throughout his dark existence. But his rage, his desires, and his vow of vengeance against the God of the Christians drive him to insane levels of violence against his prey, leading to an investigation of "Brother Victor" and the monastery.

As investigators close in, Victor launches his most daring effort: the transformation of Brother Michael. And with everything at stake, the consequences of interference are horrifying beyond mortal imagination.

Whoa! Review for whole series! But Woah!

This is my review for book 1-4

Whoa!

Ok... First if you don't like m/m romance then don't buy this, and if reading but about religion gets to you then most definitely don't buy this. OMG! Ok.

This book was just crazy. Good but crazy. So much happen I can't even begin a review. Victor is in love with the real Jesus all throughout 4 books, but he falls in love with two other people as well. Deep down I think he stay in love with Jesus to the very end. Jesus never has smex with Victor and he ends up helping Victor on occasion even though Victor becomes a serial killer monk at one point in time. I like when Victor decides to stay on earth and not go to the other vampire world and becomes a vampire maker. If you get book one ... you might as well get them all. There are 4 books in the series... they are all good... by the same narrator. You will want to know what happens to Victor in the end. It's it just crazy.

Great credits!

Horrible

Would you try another book from Michael Schiefelbein and/or A.C. Fellner?

No

Has Vampire Vow turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I am not shocked by the sacrilegious subject matter of this book; indeed as a gay Christian I was intrigued by the possible temptation of Christ by a male admirer. What disappointed me, is the idea that Jesus would be tempted by the lead character of this book. He is utterly devoid of any redeeming qualities. The book is trash; I could not finish it. Truly one of the worst books I have ever read.Additionally if a person is going to write historical fiction, do some research. The main character, while a soldier in Tiberius' legions talks about the Baths of Caracalla, which were not built for some 200 years after Tiberius. A small point but nonetheless one more reason to save your money and time by not buying this book.

very authentic sounding read.

it was read like the person really knew how it was during Jesus's time period. it took me a while to get into it but it eventually got interesting. very blasphemous, so if you're highly religious I don't advise listening.

Interesting...

This is a very interesting premise to a romance and a vampire tale. I cannot say that I disliked the story but I'm not prepared to say that I liked the story. The protagonist, Victor, is an interesting character with complicated perceptions of the world view. Seeking love and wanting love from those who could not give, leads Victor to make interesting choices fueled by emotion. I'm not sure if I will continue the series, but this story will stay with me for a bit. It's not the religiosity, it's the lack of...uh, not sure how to describe it...humanity perhaps. Not sure. Interesting story...
