This abridged version leaves out so many things that are essential the overall plot and character development. I'm a huge fan of the novel, and I hope people don't decide to read it because they've already "listened to the book." You can't really love Neely, Anne, and Jennifer without all the twists, torment, and joy in their lives. Only the entire Jacqueline Susann epic novel can do that.
I loved the story as well as the general themes of this book. Brilliantly written and throughly enjoyable. I had the WORST time listening to the narrator's voice. I found it to be earsplitting and distracting. I think that I would have enjoyed the print version a little better but I would definitely recommend the story!
This book was a huge let down. After all of the hype about how controversial this story is supposed to be, I was a little disappointed that the story moved along kind of slow and there wasn't anything controversial about the storyline at all. Didn't really care for the characters, the performance or the story line.
