Publisher's summary
Remember, Remember the Fifth of November
Imagine a Britain stripped of democracy, a world of the not-too-distant future in which freedom has been surrendered willingly to a totalitarian regime which rose to power by exploiting the people's worst fears and most damning weaknesses.
This is the setting for the parable of Evey, a young woman saved from death by a masked man calling himself V. Beguiling and dangerous, V ignites the fuse of revolution when he urges his fellow citizens to shed the blanket of tyranny and oppression that they have permitted themselves to be cloaked in. While those in power take steps to neutralize the threat, police pursue the mystery of V, unaware of the terrible truth that awaits them. But it is Evey who, with V as her enigmatic guide, sets out on the painful path of deception and self-discovery, deconstruction and re-creation, vindication and vengeance.
Novelization by Steve Moore, based on the graphic novel illustrated by David Lloyd and published by Vertigo/DC Comics. Based on the screenplay written by the Wachowski Sisters.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Alan Moore channels both the ecstatic visions of William Blake and the theoretical physics of Albert Einstein through the hardscrabble streets and alleys of his hometown of Northampton, UK. In the half a square mile of decay and demolition that was England's Saxon capital, eternity is loitering between the firetrap housing projects. Embedded in the grubby amber of the district's narrative, among its saints, kings, prostitutes, and derelicts, a different kind of human time is happening.

After Englishman John Blackthorne is lost at sea, he awakens in a place few Europeans know of and even fewer have seen—Nippon. Thrust into the closed society that is seventeenth-century Japan, a land where the line between life and death is razor-thin, Blackthorne must negotiate not only a foreign people, with unknown customs and language, but also his own definitions of morality, truth, and freedom. As internal political strife and a clash of cultures lead to seemingly inevitable conflict, Blackthorne’s loyalty and strength of character are tested by both passion and loss.

Story
The alien shapeshifters called the Chitauri were defeated by the Ultimates in a decisive battle, but suspicious activity leads the Ultimates to believe that not all of the aliens were destroyed in that cataclysmic attack. Stark Industries has developed means of quickly and easily detecting Chitauri DNA, but the federal government refuses to adopt the technology, claiming that if the tech is widely available, the Chitauri will find a way to fool it. Frustrated by the government’s seeming unwillingness to protect its own people, Captain America takes matters into his own hands.

But all that changed on his assignment to the Cay Habitat, where a group of humanoids had been secretly, commercially bioengineered for working in free fall. Story
One of the 20th century's enduring works, One Hundred Years of Solitude is a widely beloved and acclaimed novel known throughout the world and the ultimate achievement in a Nobel Prize-winning career. The novel tells the story of the rise and fall of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family. Rich and brilliant, it is a chronicle of life, death, and the tragicomedy of humankind. In the beautiful, ridiculous, and tawdry story of the Buendía family, one sees all of humanity, just as in the history, myths, growth, and decay of Macondo, one sees all of Latin America.

Exciting
Yes this was exciting, keep me interested. I'm suprised cause I'm not usually into superhero books or make or role play. Non-fiction is my favorite. And this was fun, I hate when people write a long descriptive review and tell the whole dang story, so I'm gonna leave it here.

A Novelization Worth Listening To
Would you listen to V for Vendetta again? Why?
No reason other than I didn't think I would pick up anything new a second time.
Any additional comments?
This is a novelization of the screenplay of the graphic novel/comic books. It follows very closely with the movie. It was done well, though.

Improves on the movie
Any additional comments?
I came into this book after having watched the movie, albeit about 10 years before. I was and still am a fan of the movie, so I did have some expectations going in. I was worried that it would be just a retelling of the movie and although it sort of was, it also added to it immensely. I loved how the author went into the minds of the different characters and described the events in such a way that made me appreciate the movie even more.
For someone who hasn't watched the movie, I would recommend reading the book first and then watching it because the book does add that extra layer of what's going on in people heads that is almost impossible to explicitly portray in a movie. However, I do think that the movie was superior with the action sequences and overall atmosphere, although the latter could be debatable.
Either way, the world is a great dystopia in the sense that it feels plausible and the sense of hopelessness is really tangible. I also enjoyed the characters, especially since the focus shifts among three of them which let's you experience their growth thoroughly throughout the book. Writing was also superb and engaging, especially considering it followed the movie scene by scene.
I was very tempted to give this the full five stars, but the lacklustre action sequences and the lack of anything really new, kind of let me down a bit.

Surprisingly good!
It's unusual for a book to evolve from a movie that was based on a comic book, but that is what we have here. I was worried a bit about getting this book, but the movie was pretty good, so I took the risk.
I'm glad I did. The book brings more depth to the characters while remaining in step with the movie. Simon Vance, as always, was superb and his voice was ideal for this dystopian novel. The sum total was a very rewarding listen of an excellent story.
Whether you've seen the movie or not, I can highly recommend that this audible version is worth your time.

Any form of powerful government equals corruption.
I enjoyed getting into this book. I had just as much fun reading up on it's origins as I did listening to the performance. Simon Vance is a reliable narrator and always impresses. This audiobook is like watching an extended version of the movie. I was surprised how close to the graphic novel they kept the movie.
