Ethan Abbatt is a wolf shifter who can't shift. Plagued by pain and weakness all his life, he hopes to find an honorable death by joining his pack mates in a vampire attack. Instead, Ethan learns two things: draining his blood releases his pain and his wolf, and he has a true mate - a vampire named Miguel.
Miguel Rodriguez is more than four centuries old. Strong, powerful, and vicious, he walks through life as a shadow, without happiness or affection. When a young shifter tells Miguel they're true mates, destined to be together, Miguel sends him away. But Ethan is persistent, and Miguel can't resist for long. Once Miguel gives in, being together comes naturally. The challenge is keeping themselves alive so they can stay by each other's side until forever comes.

Oho, this is such a cute scene, I'm just oozing to the floor right now. Don't mind me.
This book is adorably sweet and sappy, but also delightfully bloody and with a bit of darkness that is not really addressed (possibly could disrupt the syrupy sweetness). We are dealing with a vampire here, and they are not perfect, although Miguel comes pretty damn close, minus the sparkling. I loved the first book in the Mates series, but this one jumps right into their relationship, so no waiting necessary. It has its tender moments, but for the most part its just really, really sweet. All in all a good, sappy opposites attract.
I'll be honest, I have not enjoyed Cardeno C books in the past. But this is the second book in this series and I really enjoyed. I'm going to have to reevaluate my opinion of this author if they continue to be this good. Other books I've read from this author seem WAY over the top sappy with characters that were TSTL. But the two books I've listened too in this series were not like that. There is insta love to be sure, but it is a shifter book, of course there is. But these characters were funny and endearing. I believe that Charlie David's excellent narration is no small part of why I enjoyed this listen so much. Also, this is a stand alone book, you don't need to have read the first book, although this couple does make an appearance in the first book. This is the book of how they got together. Worth a credit.
Love defeats all
The most memorable moment was when Miguel tore through chains just to get to Ethan because he smelled his blood and thought someone had hurt him.
I have listened to him before. I like him. I like the way he really brings out the personality in a character. He's not choppy or pausing for unknown reasons. He's consistent and has a way of really using his tonality to distinguish among the characters in any story he narrates.
Until Forever Comes
This book is awesome. I loved listening to it. In fact, this series is what has made me actually consider reading Cardeno C's other works. The way the alpha male surprises you. He's strong, loving, protective but he has his own set of "needs" that would make a lesser man appear weak but simply makes him so much more. The yin to his yang is no weakling either. He may be smaller, but he has honest courage. He's frightened and willing to admit it but wants nothing more than to protect his man. The passion between them? You may need to pull to the side of the road. Just saying. Whew!
I also like the way the women are portrayed. Not weak, not overly dynamic but varied, no carbon copies.
The story is alive and once you're done, you will want to play it again.
Love MM erotica, enjoy well matched narrators with outstanding stories. They give me a great narration and I will listen to it many times.
I loved this audio.... the sound, the story, was so sexy, I enjoyed it tremendously.
I listen to t over and over.
His voice is very clear with meaning and masculine, it adapts to the story in an remarkable way. very sexy voice
Tell us about yourself! Love to listen to jazz or classical and read erotic or a good paranormal sci-fi and good narration is everything
It's about a sickly runt of the pack that turned out not sick. his condition was perfect for his mate and he ended up saving the pack
Yes, absolutely. This series was amazing and I hope more will be released by Cardeno C in the future.
All characters where great but the sister had to be my favorite. Her stubbornness and individuality was refreshing to me.
I would say the story is very well read by Charlie David and it really brought the book to life for me.
I would say the sister. She just seems like she would be a blast to dine with.
Great read. Be sure to read the first book and please ENJOY!!!!!
Exhilarating, endless possibilities!
Migueal, because he didn't know what was happening to him and even when he found a solution he tried to run from it then feel head over heels.
HE IS A GREAT NARRATOR! i didn't hid the hic speak either :D
The story you never thought possible that is truly meant to be.
I honestly i think there is plenty of detail in this book that i should be made into a movie i can totally imagine everything! :D
Great great book I would recommend to any one. Their story/ journey together is so compelling! Cardeno C is a great Author i Hope he continues their story further in the mates series! They had such a long live together and I am not yet bored of this book so i hope there is more of them in the books to come. *way better than the first book in my opinion!
I really enjoyed this audio. It was a good listen. The narrator was wonderful with his accent and innocents of our younger Ethan and the smoothness of Vampire character Miguel.
It may not be as deep as other Cardeno C 's books but it was certainly worth the price and it is something you could stand listening to more then once.
I enjoyed the not too complicated story of our characters, I believe the storyline could have been longer to get more in depth. However it was good at sticking to the bottom line. How and why are our characters getting together and what would keep them together.
I always tend to gravitate towards audiobooks, one because of the narrator and two for the convenience. So yes, I consider the audio edition better.
The idea of the book was good but it seemed to be missing that "umpf", you know?
The conflict between Ethan and Miguel was good, intriguing even. However beside that, there was no real plot. Yes, because of what they are there should have been struggle, should have been some tension. But in all actuality there really wasn't much. Everything just resolved too easily, too conveniently. So by the end it was kind of dragging, and a bit anti-climatic. So this would be a book where the concept was good but the execution could have been better. I still enjoyed it however, as I did the first book in the series, and would read future sequels.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
This was not as good as book 1. I think the whole country wolf thing really messed it up a bit... the wolf almost seemed like a dummy... then the whole tiny wolf topping a big powerful vampire was just unrealistic more so than a wolf and vampire story.
Narration was ok... but the wolf voice or rather country accent didn't work for me.
Great send and romance but still it was just eh!!
Good credit if you have book 1... not a buy... maybe a sale...
"very different to book one"
Until Forever Comes introduces us to Ethan and Miguel, a wolf and a vampire, who appear towards the end of Wake Me Up Inside. This is their story and its told very differently to that book. That book is written in the third person, and this one, first person, specifically, from Ethan's point of view and ONLY Ethan's.
any book, that deals with M/M, humans or paranormals. Cardeno C has a way with words, and Charlie David tells a story in a way that makes you wanna listen all the day long. Well I do, anyway!
Katie, Ethan and Miguel, talking about life threads, and bonding, while Ethan and Miguel are still joined. talk about laughing out loud!
when Miguel says to Ethan, Until Forever Comes. LOVED that bit!
fabulous book, thank you! not much else to say. I will look into getting these as ebooks too.
Equally as good without a doubt! The audio edition does bring the characters to life a little more, but as print version is so well written, anyone reading Until Forever Comes will automatically start adding voices and visuals to the characters!
I'd only compare this book to Wake Me Up Inside, due to it not only being part of the Mates Series, but because this was also narrated by Charlie David. I enjoyed Charlie's narration on this book the most.
I loved how Charlie managed to differentiate the characters voices so well!
An unconventional start, with a promising ending!
A thoroughly enjoyable listen with a great story line, great characters, suspense and love!
