Accused of stealing gold from an infamous Irish street gang, paranormal psychologist Matilda Schmidt will die in exactly five days if she doesn't cough it up - guilty or not. With minutes ticking away and her office overrun by a leprechaun who's loopier than he is lucky, Matilda makes a deal with a demigod - give him one night in her bed and he'll help her locate the missing gold.
But when Matilda's recent one-night stand shows up with inside information about the heist she's being framed for, she finds herself caught between a hit man and a demigod both offering to protect her - if they don't kill each other first.
If Matilda's luck doesn't change soon, death might be the only thing waiting for her at the end of the rainbow.

Cynthia has a magical way of putting together words and Hollie has a way of reading them that had me laughing like a loon. I'm definitely going to go listen to book one now and order book three for when it comes out.
The characters were so fun yet lifelike. And Flick's full name....oh my stars, I spit my tea across my papers laughing. Julie, Matilda, Liam and Crixus are definitely my new go to book friends when I need a laugh. Thank you Cynthia for giving me this to listen to.
I live to ride my bike.
Matilda Schmidt is still being pretentious, horny, multitasking all while trying to avoid being killed. That is even a lot for the doctor. To add to her day, Crixus, the demigod, is pressing for his turn in her panties. What is a woman to do? What Matilda does will be entertaining.
This is the one you want to listen to on the way home from work! I don't even know where to start. There are so many fabulous one liners that it's hard to keep from laughing continuously. And the voices that Hollie Jackson puts to Cynthia St. Aubin's work is fantastic. I can't imagine who had a harder time keeping a straight face - the author as she wrote or the narrator as she tried to read. There's male posturing over Matilda, leprechauns running a muck, Tatomans, and general hilarity. This is the second case file for Dr. Matilda Schmidt and can be listened to without the first. However, the first would enhance the enjoyment of this one.
Another fabulous story by an amazing author. Truly, Cynthia St. Aubin's books have never disappointed me. She is a go-to author for me, and I am so pleased I was given the opportunity to listen to another Matilda novel. She is a hoot and a half, for sure. The characters are well thought out, round, and funny in their ways. I love the individuality of them all.
Hollie Jackson is another favorite of mine, and I was stoked when I discovered that she was narrating this series. I love her voice and the emotion she puts behind her characters. She makes them come to life for me, and that's what I want in a story - to make me feel. To connect with the characters. She does that for me, to which I am grateful for.
Overall, this has been a 5 star read for me, no doubt. I absolutely recommend this series to other readers and listeners, and hope I listen to more in the future!
Please don't drink or eat while listening to this book.... It's fun and I've laughed out loud listening to it. The narration is excellent. It adds to the great story. I know. Will listen again at a later date. I love Cynthia's work... I recommend this and all her work..
I absolutely love St. Aubin's books. The Matilda Schmidt series is absolutely hilarious and one I can read over and over again.
St. Aubin manages to weave a fantastic story full of insane characters and situations that leave you feeling lighter hearted and possibly winded when you finish them.
Listening to it was a whole new experience- one I greatly enjoyed. Jackson did a good job bringing the characters to life. Each had a distinctive voice. My only critique would be the way the character Crixus was portrayed. He ended up sounding more like a nerdy, basement-dwelling perv than the oversexed gladiator/demigod I expected. The other characters-from the uptight doctor and her bubbly assistant to the rotund security guard and Vegas hitman to the leprechauns and tatomens were wonderful.
I would recommend this audiobook to anyone wanting a off-the-wall, hilarious story mixed in with a healthy dose of sexual innuendo, tension and occasional situations guided by unrestrained hormonal surges.
I am in love with this series.
Liam, Crixus and of course Matilda are all back for this book, with the addition of a few other characters that will have you laughing until you pee a little.
Hollie Jackson does a superb job of giving voices to Cynthia St. Aubin's cast of characters!
Watch out for the Tater Mens, they are a thing. And they'll get you.
The mix of paranormal and everyday life is great, and the humor that these book pack is out of this world.
I'm for sure going to be getting UnHoppy!
Unlucky by Cynthia St Aubin, is another humorous and crazy story about Dr. Matilda Schmidt and her encounters with a demi god and a hitman. I love the characters and crazy adventures Dr Schmidt always finds her self in when the demi god appears. This story involved a leprechaun and lost gold. If you want a good laugh listen to this story it is well read. I can't wait to listen to the next story.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved this book. Cynthia writes the most fun characters I have ever seen, she holds my attention and has me laughing. Then to top it off we have Hollie Jackson narrating this audio book, she is truly amazing and makes the book even more enjoyable. I could not stop listening, so I finished at one time with a couple small breaks. If you are looking for a fun enjoyable audiobook, here you go or any audio by Cynthia you will love.
