An oldie but a goodie

Would you consider the audio edition of Under the Lake to be better than the print version?

Having never read the print version this is only a guess but I think I would prefer the audiobook.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Under the Lake?

The unraveling of the layers of lies that premeate the lives of the characters.

Have you listened to any of Tom Stechschulte’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It neither made me laugh or cry but kept me entertained.

it was better than I expected

usually I'm only a Stephen King fan, but I enjoy the touch of superior natural with a mystery story. ..a lot like newer King.

It surprised me!

Would you listen to Under the Lake again? Why?

Yes. Just finished listening to this book in Audible and loved it! The beginning is slow but don't give up! There's a lot of turnings and subplots that enrich the ain story. And in the end everything is explained, not a common thing in supernatural stories. I recomend to those who like ghost stories told as real life.

Would you be willing to try another book from Stuart Woods? Why or why not?

Yes! I loved this book!

Have you listened to any of Tom Stechschulte’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I want to.

Who was the most memorable character of Under the Lake and why?

Mama Kelly. She's so powerful...

A Different but Great Book from Woods

This was a way different book than the usual Woods' books but it was very good and entertaining throughout.

Stuart Wood’s Under the Lake

Good novel by Stuart Woods. So accustomed to Stone Barrington. A lot of similarities i.e., juicy sex, twists and turns, who dunnits, except the girl wasn’t from Delano, GA.
This is a good read (Audible for me). You gotta wait until the end before it all comes together. So many surprises!! Very enjoyable.

Good one

Interesting plot. Good characters and setting. Good narrator. Not as good as Chiefs, but better than the other Will Lee books.

Banal, boring and weird.

What was most disappointing about Stuart Woods’s story?

It was a strange mixture of a crime story with paranormal. I did not like the paranormal part at all. The main push about bad rich guys is too banal to be interesting.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narrator did a good job, no problems there.

First 'lad lit' I've ever experienced.

I had to search on the Internet for the male equivalent of 'chick lit'. The definition should have had this book as an example.
I've not even finished the book, but I felt that I really had to write this review. (I will finish it if only because other reviewers have said there's something interesting at the end).
The main character falls in and out of relationships and beds like changing books at a library. The spooky bit's confusing and slotted into descriptions of marathon sex sessions. The cliffhangers are... there. Often.
Under the Lake? I'm merely underwhelmed.
