Publisher's summary

What secrets can be found by the light of the Cajun moon? New Orleans may be the "Big Easy", but nothing about it was ever easy for international business etiquette expert Chloe Ledet. She moved away years ago, leaving her parents and their famous French Quarter restaurant behind. But when she hears that her father has been shot, she races home to be by his side and to handle his affairs, only to learn a long-hidden secret that changes everything she knew to be true about herself and her family.

Framed for murder, Chloe and a handsome Cajun stranger must search for a priceless treasure, one whose roots weave through the very history of Louisiana itself. But can Chloe depend on the mysterious man leading her on this cat-and-mouse chase into the heart of Cajun country? Or by trusting him, has she gone from the frying pan into the fire? This exciting standalone from best-selling inspirational author Mindy Starns Clark is full of Cajun mystery, hidden dangers, and the glow of God's unending grace.

Unexpectedly good

I enjoyed the storyline - even though I often got annoyed with the main character's "quick to judge/dismiss" personality. Yes, there is a religious element to the story, but I didn't feel like it was extremely overt or off-putting.

What I couldn't stand was the narrator at first. Towards the end, the accents began to come through, but for a story of New Orleans, Creole and Cajuns, I want some GREAT accents.

Good Book

This book was good. I enjoy this author, but this was not my favorite of her books.

pitiful narrator

I loved the story. the narrator really needs to research the cajun accents and pronunciations. she sounded like Elmer Fudd. It was cringeworthy.

No religion mentioned in description

The back and forth of 18th century France and present day New Orleans was off putting at first, but I got used to it. I didn't appreciate the religious instruction and God answering prayer as part of the story.

Pink and Gold Religion

This is a love story that revolves around pink salt, gold, and religion. I really enjoyed the mystery of the story, the setting, and the characters. The only thing I could have done with out was the religious leading man. In fact, I think if you removed all of his Sunday Preacher moments, this book would be even better. Don't think that there is a ton, but its enough to turn a non-religious off while listening. Still, I enjoyed it enough to listen to it twice and intend on using it for my next 6 hour car trip to visit family. And not because its long, but because its a good listen overall.

Great story

Very engaging story. I love this author. Mindy Starnes Clark paints a beautiful picture of everything happening throughout the story. Very detailed and inspirational. I already can’t wait to listen to another one of her books !

Beautifully woven

A beautifully woven story. My only issue is that I wish the audio performer would have learned the correct pronunciation of the names and places. As a Louisiana girl, it was hard to listen to the butchering of the language. Other than that, the performance was great.

Hated for it to end!

The characters came alive with the skillful narration. The story weaves past with the present, faith and healed relationships. Mesmerizing from the opening paragraphs!

super, awesome, amazing

I LOVE this author! my second book! although, both about Cajuns, so now I desperately want to move to Louisiana and find a " Cajun Boy" of my own. So much family connection and history. ( I am alot like the chic in the story). No connection in my family

Great plot Twists!

Delightful story with great plot twists. Found myself totally surprised as things were revealed. Beautiful vivid descriptions of the Bayou. Good character development, not cookie cutter at all. The faith Element, though, was sort of thrown in- not really a Christian focused book- more a mystery with not profanity or inappropriate stuff and some God on top.
