Publisher's summary

Love has a way of derailing the best of plans. Wynter Thompson, divorced with a young child, struggles to balance the demands of her surgical residency with the responsibilities of motherhood - and between the two, discovers there is little time left for anything else. She manages to convince herself that she has everything she needs, because another chance at love is definitely not in her game plan.

Pearce Rifkin is a woman with a plan, and it doesn’t include a serious relationship. Chief Surgical Resident is just a stepping stone to her lifelong goal - chairmanship at one of the top ten medical centers. Determined to follow in her father’s footsteps, even though she isn’t the son he dreamed of, Pearce has no time for romance. Two women with nothing in common but a shared passion for surgery clash at every opportunity, especially when matters of the heart are suddenly at stake.

One of my favorite romances

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Despite the short-comings of the narrator, this is one of Radclyffe's best medical romances. I've read it more than once and listened to it more than once.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Turn Back Time?

The entire story is really great.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narrator, unfortunately, completely missed the personality of one main character and on occasion ignored written direction, such as a whisper or a tone of voice. Unfortunate for such a great story.

Any additional comments?

Absolute only thing wrong with this audio book is the fault of the narrator. Even though the author describes one of the surgeons as having a husky voice, the narrator gives her a wimpy little girl voice that never should be used for a grown woman, much less an aggressive lesbian surgeon.

Ok book

As glad as I am that lesbian books are becoming available on audible, there are many more I'd rather see than this one. It's a cute story but if you've read Radclyffe once, you need not really read more if you want a different story. They seem to follow the theme of two unlikely people meeting, not getting along, falling in love, crisis, ending with living happily ever after. Again, loving that lesbian books are available but this story is old. There are also two skips on the recording making it a bit distracting.

Tension Turns to Romance at the Hospital

Two strong, dedicated women with set-in-stone plans for success find that their hearts have other agendas— with each other. From their first meeting where they literally butt heads, you can feel their friction, and frisson.

Wynter's questioning and acceptance of a lesbian identity is presented in a refreshingly matter-of-fact way. It's personal, not iconic. Her "first time" was funny and tender at the same time.

Like the lesbian relationship from Grey's Anatomy, but this goes places.

Terrible narration

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator got it all wrong. Both characters sounded completely different than they should have, and the intonations of the flirtatious scenes were totally off. She seems to be a straight woman who can't hear or reproduce a lesbian voice. I wonder how she would have read it if it had been a heterosexual relationship. I was very disappointed, and won't get another book narrated by the same person.

Like Clockwork

Radclyffe’s books run like clockwork—and that’s a good thing.

When I want to escape into a world of successful, driven women with not enough time or emotional availability for love, who just somehow find a way to each other, this is where to turn.

The friction, delay, and tender first kiss between Wynter and Pearce in "Turn Back Time" really pay off; and the hospital scenes are riveting.

With Radclyffe, you know what you’re getting, a satisfying clicking into place of the plot’s gears and cogs, and a sure diversion.

Such a great story.

I loved every bit of this story. I was so excited to learn how Pearce and wynter got together. . I also love that their story continues in Radcyffe's Trams Alert book.
This is a easy read , with laughs, lots of smiles, great chemistry and build-up between the Main characters. I love the interaction between the sub characters as well..
You should read this book as well as her others. you will not be disappointed.
oh, and the Narrator did an amazing job bring you in the the lives of these Doctors and their families.

A Butch dyke for a change, excellent performance.

The story is good, true to the genre and a great surprise to find that one of the main characters is a butch-type dyke. Unlike many of the books I've read over the years in which both women are quite the femme type. Pearce is not as butch as, Reese, the ex military - Sheriff in the Provincetown Series but she is quite interesting for a change!

Nicole Vilencia does a great job. Her performance is superb and you should use her more than Nicole Zanzarella or Abby Craden who have quite limited skills to portray a variety of characters.

Last but not least, Radclyffe does make it quite realistic by using all of those technical medical terms. I took me back to when the TV Series "ER" was on. Thank you for that.

Worst narrator ever

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. Story is fine - I read the book years ago. The narration was impossible to get past and I finally gave up before half way through the audio book.

Would you recommend Turn Back Time to your friends? Why or why not?

See above.

Would you be willing to try another one of Nicole Vilencia’s performances?

Sorry, no.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Narration by Abby Craden. Her narration of Too Close To Touch was wonderful.

Any additional comments?

I wish Trauma Alert had a different narrator.

A nice love story

Would you listen to Turn Back Time again? Why?

I would listen to it again, but there are better authors out there. Good description of character. Good character development, but not as deep as I would have liked. You do get to know the characters. The characters are familiar. one doesn't know she's gay. One does. They fall in love after a bit of yearning and longing. ....... and the beat goes on.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Turn Back Time?

I did like the love scenes. Don't get to hear too many love scenes in books between women.

What about Nicole Vilencia’s performance did you like?

I like her performance. I wasn't put to sleep and I was able to enjoy the book with her interpretation of the characters as she read.

Who was the most memorable character of Turn Back Time and why?

My favorite part is during the first love scene where she begins to realize what she is and feels happy. Not a lot of conflict which isn't always the case with someone coming out to themselves.
