Never live your life by committee...
This story and series was filled with twist that were unexpected. The lives of these characters, as flawed as they were, was very interesting. I found myself pulling for different characters at different times even though they all seem to have motives counter to each other. The story flowed well but I can't say the same about the narrator. He would stumble and pause at the wrong time taking away from the emotions that should have been felt. But overall this is a solid story and Series.
This book is for mature audiences and is very violent and some what disturbing and probably shouldn't be listened to without head phones.
I LOVED all three books! Unlike other audibles, this one kept me guessing!! I'm so sad that this is the end!! I loved all of the characters and the story line. The authors did a great job. However, the narrator took many awkward pauses throughout all three books. The narrators performance is my only negative critique.
I'm so glad I finished all three books in the series. Each one got better and the heat turned up. Yes, it is very ratchet and I kept shaking my head at the betrayal, strong language, and high reverence to so much killing just to keep up a street cred. It's all the unfortunate BS that is killing black communities today but the authors tell it in the most authentic way. I was glued to the audible wanting to know the next shocking betrayal all the way to the end. Sad but a dose of reality. I would def recommend this book. Especially if you like hood or mob stories. Thank you to the authors for knocking this one out the park!
I absolutely loved how the author stayed true to the storyline and characters. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. Oh, and the narrator's performance was superb!
