Publisher's summary

Drew and Jenny have spent years being the envy of their friends with their out of control sex lives - well, not really. Mostly it makes their friends want to throw up in their mouths a little.

With two little kids and two busy lives, for the first time, Drew and Jenny aren't on the same page in the bedroom. Drew will stop at nothing to get his previously amorous wife back in the sack, and Jenny will do anything for a full night of sleep.

Carter and Claire, and Jim and Liz are their usual (un)helpful selves and are full of advice for the discontented duo, wanting nothing more than to help restore order to the usually happy couple's lives.

In the third and final installment of the Chocolate Lovers Series, will Drew and Jenny find the spark that's been missing in their marriage, or will the trouble they're having cause a stickier situation than the time Jenny poured honey all over Drew and he fused himself to a tree?

Good

This was funny love that Drew got his own book. Jenny and Drew were having wild kinky sex and once the second child came along it all stopped. Sometimes life gets in the way and couples have to make time talk and bring the sexy back. I am so glad Jenny and Drew found their spark.

Review: Troubles and Treats, by Tara Sivec

Now that I’ve finished book three of Tara Sivec’s Chocolate Lovers Series, I can see what all the hype was about. These three books were nothing short of entertaining.

Troubles and Treats takes a slightly different turn than Seduction and Snacks and Futures and Frosting did. While those two books were told from the point of view of Claire and Carter, Troubles & Treats is from Jenny’s and Drew’s points of view. I was a little thrown in the beginning, but I admit this is mainly due to not rereading the blurb before starting the book. If I had, I’d have seen they were the main character’s this time around. I soon go used to being in Drew’s head, and that was a welcomed change. He’s a hilarious character, and the fact that he’s coupled with Jenny makes him worthy of his own book. Jenny’s great too, in her own ways. I especially like how we get her side of the story when it comes to her using the wrong words when she’s talking.

Was this a good ending to the series? I’d say so. Sivec didn’t hold back in hilarious and outrageous moments in this book. Readers will have no worries when it comes to getting laughs. This book is filled with them. This book is also filled with a great story. Drew and Jenny are going through troubles in their marriage, and the author is able to bring this serious subject into the book without killing the comedic elements. She’s also able to not overdo the comedy when it comes to making sure the main storyline is easily followed.

One of my favorite pieces of this book is the addition of children to the group. Before we only had a young Gavin, but now there are more kids and even more hilarious dialogue. At times I don’t know how the author comes up with some of this stuff. It’s so out-there, but so good.

The Chocolate Lovers Series is over, but luckily I have one short story to read. I know I’ll be missing these characters and their crazy lives, so the short story Hearts and Llamas will be calling my name to help me revisit them.

RED & PURPLE SKITTLES & DUMDUM SUCKERS!!!! LOVED!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Troubles and Treats to be better than the print version?

It always is...but I only listened!

What other book might you compare Troubles and Treats to and why?

Its a Romcom....and its a good one..no comparing!

Which character – as performed by Romy Nordlinger – was your favorite?

Drew in this one...oh and all the kids!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

OMG it would be awesome...they should do the whole series!!!! I hate this question Mr Audible....

Any additional comments?

THIS SERIES WAS AWESOME!! WELL WORTH YOUR TIME AND A CREDIT!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Jenny and Drew....they are hilarious alone...and together, plus kids...HIGHLARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jenny and Drew have lost their kinky spark...actually no action is going on at all..after 2 kids Jenny is tired..and Drew is clueless! These 2 are so adorably dense...and so much fun!! This was a great addition to the series..and I am going on to the spin off series now....this group of people are so much sexy fun, you just have to listen to the whole series....Tara Sivec is a comedic genius!

VAGINA SKITTLES ARE DELICIOUS!!! LOL ONE OF THE BEST LISTENS OF 2016!!!!

100% RECOMMEND...1 CLICK IT NOW!!!!

What a Treat

Where does Troubles and Treats rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The story is fantastic and one of the funniest I have ever read/heard. It is my go to series when I am in a funk and need a pick me up.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I felt the person reading wasn't quite right for the voice, she is a little hard to listen to as she gets annoying. Plus she doesn't do different voices for the characters which made it a little hard to fallow. I really prefer girl voices for the girl roles and guy voices for the men parts.

Any additional comments?

I will say that even though the person hired to read these stories is lacking it wasn't bad enough to deter me to not buy the series audio books

Not at all what preview leads you to expect!

Thought this was going to be silly/cute story, but was extremely disappointed and couldn't even get past first few chapters.

This was a great series, and this book was the perfect ending. I don't think I have listened to anything that made me laugh more than this did!

Hysterically funny

What made the experience of listening to Troubles and Treats the most enjoyable?

The writing. It's hard to find a great story, that combines family, friendship and humor.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Troubles and Treats?

Both pepper spray incident. Humor is always wonderful. I laughed through most of the story.

What aspect of Romy Nordlinger’s performance would you have changed?

I've always heard that drama is easy and humor, that everyone will find funny, is hard.

If you could take any character from Troubles and Treats out to dinner, who would it be and why?

The only complaint I have is, that I had a hard time distinguishing different characters. The narrator has a pleasant voice but rarely changed her voice to suit the characters.

Any additional comments?

Now I have to listen to all of Tara's books!

I loved this book and the characters - I had a red face and tears, there were some awesome lines in there that I wish I had used! Listening with Romy as the narrator - perfect!
