Publisher's summary

TERRIFIED...

It was supposed to be a harmless camping trip. Six wayward teenagers who'd run into trouble with the law, and their court-appointed guardians, Sara and Martin Randhurst. Three nights on a small, deserted island off of Michigan's upper peninsula. A time to bond, to learn, to heal.

Then Martin told a campfire story about the island's history. Of the old civil war prison hidden in there, and the starving confederate soldiers who resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Everyone thought it was funny. They even laughed when Martin pretended to be dragged off into the woods.

But Martin didn't come back. And neither did Sara when she went in search of him.

Then the laughter stopped.

...TO DEATH

The group soon began to realize that this deserted island wasn't so deserted after all. And perhaps Martin's ridiculous story had more truth to it than anyone thought.

What's the most horrifying thing you can imagine?

This is a hundred times worse...

TRAPPED by Jack Kilborn
It starts where other horror ends

A Word of Warning

This is the long-awaited follow-up to AFRAID, one of the most horrifying books ever written.

Originally scheduled to be released in paperback in 2010, the publisher read the first version of the manuscript and refused to release it. The author made extensive changes, rewriting much of the story. The publisher still refused.

This is a disturbing, terrifying book. You may think you're brave enough to handle it. But you're probably not...

I like the extreme, this was extreme.

The twist in the middle was a little hard to get past but what the hey, I went along with it. It was fun. It was a wild ride. Sadistic, sick, twisted and keeps you coming back for more.

Great story.. One you don't want to put down

I had started to read this book, but due to complex migraines struggled with reading either from printed copy or on my Note 4.. Sooooo I turned to the audio of this book, and I jave enjoyed every moment.

My only suggesrion: use 2 narrators -
1. a female for female characters, and
2. your current narrator for the male characters!
It would add more depth to the performance..

Thank you!
Stephanie

If you are squeamish, don't read this book

The story kicks off with a bang and doesn't stop until the end, and I see potential for a sequel. A husband and wife social worker team take their infant son and 6 troubled teens who are in their care for a final camping trip on a secluded island. When a campfire ghost story starts to become reality, the twists and turns are unexpected.

Nail Gag

His pet was a man with his arms and legs cut off, eyes gauged out and tongue cut off.

This was the most disgusting, gory, violent, mindless, torture filled, intense, twisted book I have ever read. It was totally sick.

I loved it.

Still great

This was my second time listening to this audiobook, and my heart was still in my throat. Fast paced, full of blood, guts, and gore. It's frightening to realize just how evil the human race can be. Underneath the horror, runs a vein of fierce love and second chances. This is a great read for the fans of horror, mystery, and anyone who loves to see the mechanations of the human mind.

lots of torture and killing

this book was a bit disappointing due to the fact that the plot was more or less replaced with lots and lots of torture and killing. I would have preferred a better, more complete story than the disturbing gore. I like gore, but this was more like a bad horror movie, where theres not much of a plot and the main attraction is cutting people up.

This author is at the top of his game!

Right from Chapter 1 the horror begins. Kilborn weaves a well written story. A very disturbing story. The story is so disturbing and gory at times it's almost a guilty pleasure to enjoy each page. Enjoy, but be warned, this story is not for faint of heart.
