    "O Niccolo"
Would you listen to To Lie With Lions again? Why?

Having anxiously waited for what seems to be forever, finally more of the House of Niccolo!Audible, please make the Spring of the Ram (Book 2) and Scales of Gold (Book 4) available as quickly as possible! These books should be savored in the order they were written and as I have read them in the "old-fashioned" way atleast once a year since they were originally released in print. It is so wonderful to have the books currently available read by such an accomplished narrator. Beautiful inflexion; realistic and measured pace just as I would have imagined Ms. Dunnett to have meant. So very pleased!! I will keep these books in "My Library" for always!

"A fantastic journey with just two more to go!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Unfortunately for me, I have no friends capable of either reading or listening to Dorothy Dunnett, much to my regret! When reading Dorothy Dunnett we are learning all the time. I and many more no doubt, check the History proper and find little difference except for the characters place seamlessly into these wonderful books. This was a joy to listen to, as were the others up to this point.

What was one of the most memorable moments of To Lie With Lions?

Far too many but a great laugh out loud when little Jordan was showing Bel his mastery of the Scottish language!

What about Christopher Kay’s performance did you like?

Now that I am used to and accept Christopher Kay, I love best his English voices and his French accent is very good, also the young people are excellent, the others I cannot judge.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a few moments but I remember Zacco's death and when Nicholas and Gelis declared what they really had hoped to achieve near to the end of the book.

    Any additional comments?

    No

    "Slow moving history"
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

Those who enjoy historical romance and fantastic tales.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Potentially interesting was the time it was set in . Least interesting was the language used.

What didn’t you like about Christopher Kay’s performance?

I found the book tedious and the narration did not engage me sufficiently to overcome that.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It was long! If you wanted occupying for an extended period, it might do.
