Publisher's summary

A USA Today best seller!

“Old architecture, a missing woman, a sudden inheritance, and a great mystery with unexpected twists make this a hard-to-put-down book....” (Karen White, New York Times best-selling author)

Welcome to Hope Beach. A place of intoxicating beauty...where trouble hits with the force of a hurricane.

Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the Outer Banks could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer’s talent and love of history. She’s delighted to learn of the family she never knew she had. And the handsome Coast Guard lieutenant she’s met there on the island could definitely be the man of her dreams.

But Libby soon realizes that the only way she can afford the upkeep on the inn is to sell it to developers who are stalking the island. The father who willed her the inn has died before she could meet him, and her newfound brother and sister are convinced she’s there to steal their birthright. Worst of all, her best friend and business partner has been kidnapped before her eyes, and Libby’s under suspicion for the crime.

Libby’s dream come true is becoming a nightmare. Her only option is to find her friend and prove her innocence, or lose everything on the shores of Hope Island.

“Colleen is a master storyteller!” (Karen Kingsbury, number-one New York Times best-selling author)

Need to disclose that this is Christian Fiction!!!

What disappointed you about Tidewater Inn?

This was totally Christian Fiction with many many bible quotes and simplistic Christian episodes. The narrator was horrible. When she spoke for Libby, the main character, her high voice was patronizing and sounded like Mr. Bill from the old SNL series.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The narrator

Would you be willing to try another one of Devon O'Day’s performances?

Nope.

Any additional comments?

The storyline was good, but I could not finish the book.

Disappointed

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No, not the audio book, I didn't like the performance, failed to receive the "gotcha" that creates empathy for the two main ladies. Felt it was too whiney and wimpy even.

Interesting Listen set at OBX

Intricate and interesting plot. Too bad Colleen Coble has a couple of characters in this story who are TSTL. They do, of course, because this is a CBA book. Because of those characters believability is suspended at times. But, she's created such engaging H/H and a unique storyline that it was worth ignoring the inane teenage characters. I think CC fans will love this book by their favorite story teller. You'll keep listening to find out how the book turns out. I wouldn't normally comment on characters who are so ridiculous, but I had to for this listen. However, I float some grace in that they are teenagers and spoiled young adults. And unfortunately Coble's characterization may be spot-on for some of these real-life inspirations! Consistent delivery from CC of a very good listen.

Loved the story. Terrible narration.

Would you try another book from Colleen Coble and/or Devon O'Day?

yes.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator dropped his voice towarad the end of a sentence and ran it all together making it hard to understand.

Could you see Tidewater Inn being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Read the story. Don't buy the audilble.

Terrible Narration

The narration of the main character, what can I say, was horrid. It wasn't that the narration made her sound naive, it did, but what bothered me to my core was that she sounded as if she had been locked in a cellar for the first 20 years of her, 25 year old, life. The narration made her unrelatable to almost anyone. The storyline could have been great. I'd have given it a solid 2.5-3 stars if the narration wasn't so terrible. very disappointed to use a paid credit on this book. If it were free or under $5 I wouldn't have finished it.

narrator

The narrator did a plausible job on all voices except that of the lead female character. This woman of courage and character had a self pitying whine for a voice.

Love love love her books

I've read most of her books and I'm excited to start getting some on audible so I can listen to them any time! There r great stories keep u guessing till the end. Just a not to narrator for future books you make Libbie's characters sound so winey all the time you make out to be winey and needy thru out the whole book when u do her voice and I don't see her as that type when reading the book. Just an opinion

Faith based book

I'm very disappointed that the summary of this book said nothing about it being a somewhat faith/Christian based book. Every one has a right to their opinion and faith. I just wished I knew how it was slanted before I wasted my money,

Great twist

The twist was great at the end. Keeps you guessing. The performance was ok. Came off a little whiny but got better as it went along
